Sixers Just Sent A Clear Signal On Dillon Jones

The 76ers see potential in Dillon Jones, whose impressive training camp and preseason showcase could lead to a valuable two-way contract opportunity.

Dillon Jones has already done enough in Sixers camp to keep the organization interested, and the proof showed up Tuesday in Delaware.

While Philadelphia keeps moving through preseason, its G League affiliate made a move to secure Jones’ rights from the Portland Trail Blazers’ affiliate, along with a draft pick. In exchange, the Delaware Blue Coats parted with Dmytro Skapintsev’s rights and Max Abmas’ rights. Jones is still competing with the 76ers in training camp and preseason, but the transaction is another sign the team wants to keep him in the mix.

That interest makes sense after his first preseason outing. In Monday night’s opener against the New York Knicks, Jones logged 18 minutes and made the most of the opportunity.

He scored 11 points on 3-for-6 shooting, hit one of his two attempts from deep and went 4-for-4 at the line. He also added six rebounds, two assists and one turnover.

The opponent carried extra familiarity for Jones, since he was facing his former club. With several key players sidelined, Philadelphia had room to give some of its depth players a longer look, and Jones took advantage.

He signed a non-guaranteed deal when he joined the 76ers before camp, so nothing is locked in yet. But the performance, paired with the Blue Coats’ move, shows Philadelphia has a real reason to keep him close even if a two-way spot doesn’t open up in Philly.

That path may be harder to clear after Ariel Hukporti’s injury raised concerns in the big-man group. The 76ers have two traditional big men on standard contracts behind Joel Embiid, with Tacko Fall on a camp deal. Bona is currently recovering from a foot injury, while Hukporti is going to spend the season recovering from a torn Achilles.

Jones is still in the two-way mix, but if another team doesn’t grab him first, Delaware looks like a very real landing spot. The Sixers have had success in recent years finding two-way talent with the Coats, and Jones has already made enough of an impression through his first two weeks of camp to stay on the organization’s radar.

LeBron Just Highlighted Why The Sixers Wanted This Move So Badly

The 76ers added a familiar kind of frontcourt stability when they brought in Dean Wade, betting on the sort of player who can slide into different lineups without forcing a roster reset. Philadelphia gave him a four-year, $38.7 million contract, and the expectation is that he will settle into a meaningful bench role behind the starters, giving the team another option who can help in multiple spots on the floor.

LeBron James recently underscored why the move made so much sense by praising Wades versatility after a preseason look. For a team trying to build a deeper, more adaptable rotation, that kind of endorsement matters because it points to the same trait the Sixers clearly valued: a player who can fit alongside just about anyone and still find ways to impact the game. LeBrons Legacy Debate Just Took A Wild New Turn

Chris Bosh stirred the conversation again with a public salute to LeBron James on Instagram, stacking praise on top of the rsum that has already made James a fixture in every all-time debate. In doing so, Bosh framed a bold path for the future, tying Jamess legacy not just to what he has already done, but to an even stranger next chapter with Philadelphia.

The idea lands with extra force because the 76ers are already being viewed as title favorites for the 2026-27 season, which gives any James-related speculation a built-in stage. Still, the premise runs headfirst into a long-established reality: James has never sounded eager to move into coaching, even as outside voices keep imagining bigger and weirder ways for him to add to his story. V.J. Edgecombe Just Shared What Means Even More Than A Title

V.J. Edgecombe is already drawing attention in Philadelphia as a young piece with real upside, but his latest comments cut well beyond the usual rookie chatter. The Bahamas native made clear that, for him, representing his home country carries a meaning that sits above even the biggest prize in the NBA, a striking sentiment at a time when the 76ers can legitimately think about chasing a title.

Edgecombe has plenty of reasons to dream big in Philadelphia, where the expectations are always high and the path to contention is part of the conversation from the start. Still, his focus on the Bahamas adds another layer to his profile and underscores how much international play can matter to players whose identity is rooted as much in national pride as in league success.
