Sixers Gala Breaks Records With Massive Youth Fundraiser

In a spectacular celebration of community and legacy, the Sixers Youth Foundation Gala broke fundraising records while honoring the team's storied past and investing in the future of Philadelphia's youth.

The Philadelphia 76ers and Sixers Youth Foundation pulled off a slam dunk with their annual gala, raising an impressive $2.6 million for youth programs in Philadelphia. This event wasn't just about the numbers-it was a celebration of community, history, and the future.

Marking the 25th anniversary of the iconic 2000-01 Eastern Conference championship team, the gala adopted an “Evening on the Court” theme. Attendees were treated to appearances by current Sixers stars like Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, VJ Edgecombe, and Kelly Oubre.

The night was made even more special with the presence of legends from the 2000-01 team, including the electrifying 2001 MVP Allen Iverson and the legendary Julius Erving. Talk about a lineup that could light up any court!

Adding to the early 2000s nostalgia, multi-platinum hip-hop artist Ja Rule took the stage, delivering hits that had the crowd “Livin’ It Up” and “Mesmerized.” It was a night where basketball and music combined to create an unforgettable atmosphere.

In their ongoing mission to uplift local youth, the Sixers Youth Foundation organized both live and silent auctions. These featured coveted items like autographed memorabilia from Philadelphia’s sports icons across the Sixers, Eagles, and Phillies.

Among the hottest items? A ticket package to the Tyrese Maxey Golf Tournament and a unique lunch with Sixers head coach Nick Nurse.

Since its inception in 2015, the foundation has made a significant impact, benefiting over 285,000 young people. Their efforts range from refurbishing basketball courts throughout Greater Philadelphia to hosting clinics and supporting academic initiatives. Partnering with more than 20 non-profit organizations, they’re committed to fostering youth development in the region.

The foundation has already enhanced or refurbished 15 basketball courts, with plans to complete two more in the coming year. It's clear that the Sixers Youth Foundation isn't just playing the game; they're changing it for the better.
