Fans packed Xfinity Mobile Arena in South Philadelphia on Wednesday for the annual summertime sale, where deep discounts on Philadelphia 76ers and Flyers gear drew shoppers looking to score big.
By the time the doors opened at noon, some fans had already lined up early to get first crack at the racks. Merchandise was marked down as much as 90% off, and plenty of shoppers walked out with more than they expected.
Ryan Knarr said he found exactly the kind of haul he was hoping for.
"I got a sick throwback sweatshirt for 70% off and another sweatshirt," said Ryan Knarr, a Sixers fan.
He said the sale made it easy to knock out part of his shopping list.
"I got some nice City Edition pants, got a couple of jerseys for some friends as well, so just unbelievable deals. Really cool that the Sixers do this every year," Knarr said.
For other fans, the sale has become a yearly ritual. Charles Conway called the discounts hard to beat.
"Oh, it's a beautiful thing. A very beautiful thing," said Charles Conway.
Cara Ozlek said the event gives her a chance to stock up before the next season.
"Hey, I love getting a good sale and stocking up for the next season coming up," Cara Ozlek said.
Bernie Perlman said he has been making the trip since 2010 and still keeps finding worthwhile items.
"I've been coming since 2010, and I always have good finds here," Bernie Perlman said.
Perlman and Ozlek said they often shop for jerseys, shirts and hats for themselves and for friends. Perlman said he spotted a few items that caught his eye.
"I found a few baby [Joel] Embiid jerseys, and I have friends that are dying for the black Flyers jerseys, and I might grab a couple more," Perlman said.
Officials said the sale is designed to clear out last year’s merchandise and make room for new items, including jerseys that fans have been waiting for.
Conway said he was hoping to see a pair of names that were not yet available.
"I wanted a LeBron jersey and [Jaylen] Brown jersey, but they're not here yet," Conway said.
Georgieann Michels, vice president of marketing, said those items are expected soon.
"We will be having some of that on hand. We're very excited for that. We hear the fans and we know they are looking for it, and we're excited for the king to be in Philly," said Georgieann Michels, vice president of marketing.
The sale runs again Thursday from noon to 6 p.m.

Jrue Holiday To Philly Sounds Perfect Until One Problem Hits
The idea of Jrue Holiday back in Philadelphia has a nostalgic pull that is easy to understand, especially with former Sixer Evan Turner openly backing the reunion. Holiday remains the kind of steady, two-way guard who would fit just about anywhere, and for a fan base that remembers what he brought the first time around, the speculation has a natural appeal even without anything concrete driving it.
But the practical side is where the conversation starts to wobble. The 76ers already have a top-heavy salary structure and a roster with very few tradeable contracts, which makes any serious pursuit complicated before it even begins, and Holidays $34.8 million salary only adds to the problem. Philadelphia has added notable pieces this offseason, but fitting a player of Holidays caliber into that mix would take a lot more than wishful thinking. [Read more 🡒]
76ers Frontcourt Just Earned The Kind Of Respect Fans Dreamed About
For all the noise around the East, the conversation about frontcourts has a familiar center of gravity: Philadelphia, and whether its big-man group can finally be judged on talent instead of availability. The latest conference ranking puts the 76ers at the top for 2026-27, a nod to how much star power and two-way impact they can bring when the roster is viewed through the best-case lens.
The catch, as always, is the one that has followed this team for years. The evaluation is built on a healthy scenario, and that matters because the ceiling here is enormous if the pieces stay on the floor. In that kind of projection, Philadelphia does not just look deep up front, it looks like the sort of frontcourt that can tilt the entire championship picture. [Read more 🡒]
76ers Look Like They Just Dodged A Massive Kawhi Disaster
The buzz around Kawhi Leonard has taken a sharp turn, and it has only made Philadelphias earlier decision look smarter. The 76ers had shown interest in Leonard, but when the chance came to act, they passed and went in another direction, landing Jaylen Brown instead. In a league where one move can reshape a franchise, that kind of caution suddenly looks a lot less boring and a lot more useful.
Now the Leonard situation is clouded by uncertainty, with Toronto reportedly backing away from completing the trade amid concerns tied to the contract investigation. For Philadelphia, the timing matters because it avoided committing to a deal that could have brought a whole lot of risk with it. Instead, the Sixers have a cleaner path forward, and for once the safest choice may also be the one that ages best. [Read more 🡒]
