"Getting that monkey off my back feels great," Payne admitted. "I need to be more consistent and efficient. That’s my focus."
With Tyrese Maxey sidelined, the Sixers need more nights like this from Payne. His energy off the bench is vital, and Tuesday's performance could be the spark they need to stay competitive.
"Coming off the bench, you have to have a different motor," Payne explained. "You don’t have much time, so you need to change the game quickly. Sometimes, those nights turn into big nights."
Next up, the Sixers face the East-leading Pistons in Detroit. Payne is eager to keep the momentum rolling.
"Hopefully, I take this into the game against Detroit. It felt good to see the shots go in.
I know I’m capable. Let’s keep it going."
