Caitlin Clark is open to a trip to Philadelphia - she just wants to know what kind of reception she’d get when she gets there.
During a November 3, 2026 episode of Kylie Kelce’s podcast, Not Gonna Lie, Kelce floated the idea of Clark coming to see a Sixers game in Philly. Clark didn’t shy away from the invite.
“Would you ever come and watch a Sixers game in Philly?”
Clark answered, “I’d love to. Yeah. I need to experience the fans up close.”
Kelce then pushed the conversation a step further and asked what might happen if Clark’s face popped up on the Jumbotron.
“Would they boo me or would they cheer?”
That was the question Clark tossed back at the Philadelphia crowd.
The Fever star said she loves the intensity of Philly sports fans, even if she knows they can be a handful. According to Clark, Phillies, Eagles and Sixers fans “want to win just as much as the players do, possibly more.”
“I love how passionate fans are. They’re crazy, but I think it’s awesome.
Phillies fans and Eagles fans, Sixers fans, they all seem kind of nuts, but I love it. …”
Clark also said she has only been to Philadelphia once, and that trip was for a doctor’s appointment and a cheesesteak.
Even with that limited experience, she didn’t shut down the idea of becoming part of the city’s basketball future. When Kelce suggested Clark could join Philadelphia once the city gets its own WNBA team, Clark replied, “You can claim me. I’ll take all of Philly.”
Kelce has been working the recruiting angle for a while. She said she has spoken with Dawn Staley about Philadelphia’s WNBA team, which is set to debut in 2030, and she also previously talked to Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson about the project and how to convince her to play there.
Clark, for her part, kept the door open while also making it clear she wasn’t making any promises. Kelce said, “I’m going to play the long game to get the best in the world to come to Philadelphia. I’ll come back to this.”
Clark’s response: “I’m going to have to talk to my agent.”
For now, Clark remains tied to Indiana. She will be with the Fever for at least the next year, if not two, and has spent all three of her WNBA seasons with the team.
The Philadelphia conversation also turned to team names. The WNBA and NBA Board of Governors approved Philadelphia’s expansion franchise in April 2026, along with new teams in Detroit and Cleveland. The city’s WNBA team is scheduled to arrive in 2030.
“Philadelphia Belles” was one of the names discussed, while Kelce also suggested “Philadelphia Broads,” a nod to Broad Street. Clark said the Belles name stood out to her because of the women’s AAU program she grew up around.
“They were one of the first really, really, really good women’s AAU programs when I was growing up. I played them all the time.
They were on the Nike circuit. They’ve had a lot of really good players.”
Clark also pointed to Philadelphia’s place in the women’s basketball landscape and said the timing of the team’s arrival should make the launch even bigger.
“Philly has such a rich tradition in women’s basketball, too. It’s 2030, and the new arena will be done by then. It’s going to be crazy, I think - just the excitement level for that team.”
Clark also revealed she already owns a signed, game-worn Sixers jersey from LeBron James. She said, “He gave me his signed, game-worn Sixers jersey. I don’t really want that many people’s signed jerseys, but that’s one where I’m like, ‘That’ll be framed.’”
Clark is already a known Kansas City Chiefs fan, while Kelce’s brother-in-law, Travis Kelce, plays for the team.

76ers Could Have A Veteran Answer To Their Backup Center Problem
The 76ers have spent enough time searching for stability behind their starting center to know the backup spot can quietly shape a season, and Brook Lopez has emerged as a name worth watching. The veteran big man is reportedly a potential buyout candidate from the Los Angeles Clippers, where the teams struggles and his contract situation could lead to a change in direction, opening a path for Philadelphia to explore a move.
For a Sixers team that views its reserve center minutes as a weakness, Lopez would bring exactly the kind of steady, experienced presence that can matter in the margins. He has long been valued for his size and shooting touch, and if a buyout does materialize, Philadelphia could see him as a straightforward upgrade option as it looks to shore up that part of the roster. Tyrese Maxey Just Got The Kind Of Sixers Praise Fans Notice
Tyrese Maxeys fast start has already turned into something bigger than good numbers for the 76ers. After the teams NBA Cup opening win, he picked up public praise from two of the leagues biggest names, with Jaylen Brown calling him the clear leader of Philadelphia and LeBron James highlighting the energy and leadership he has brought early in the season.
For a team trying to establish its identity, that kind of recognition matters because it reflects how Maxey is being viewed beyond the locker room. He has been one of the most important reasons for Philadelphias strong opening stretch through nine games, and when opposing stars start talking about a young guard in those terms, it says plenty about the role he is carving out for himself. Tyrese Maxeys Place In The Sixers Just Got Harder To Ignore
Tyrese Maxeys role in Philadelphia has become impossible to miss, and Jaylen Brown noticed it too. Brown said Maxey has been leading the 76ers and settling into his place with the group, while also pointing to the long-running core Maxey has formed with Joel Embiid. For Brown, the assignment is clear enough: fit in, add to what already exists, and make the most of the opportunities around those two.
Brown offered a useful glimpse of that approach in the recent game against the Bulls, where he put up a season-high 25 points and also chipped in on the glass and as a passer. The scoring stood out, but the more telling part was the balance in his game, the kind of unselfish contribution that can help a team already built around established stars. For the Sixers, the bigger question is how far that fit can go once the games start to matter even more. [Read more 🡒]
