Allen Iverson didn’t need many words to weigh in on the 76ers’ offseason overhaul.
After Philadelphia landed LeBron James and Jaylen Brown, the franchise icon offered a blunt reaction while attending one of The Big 3 contests on Sunday. His message came at the end of the clip and made his stance clear.
“Ain't no fun when the rabbit got the gun,” Iverson said at the end of the clip.
The moves have completely changed the look of the roster. James announced he was joining the 76ers on a two-year deal with a player option in the second season, setting him up for his 24th and possibly 25th NBA season. That would push a remarkable run even further, and it’s a record that will be tough for future players to match.
Before that, Philadelphia pulled off a shocking trade for Brown from the Boston Celtics. The deal sent Paul George and draft compensation back to Boston and gave the 76ers a major new piece alongside James.

Iverson, who led Philadelphia in its last trip to the NBA Finals in 2001, has reason to be encouraged by the talent now in place. Fans do too, especially after a long stretch of playoff heartbreaks.
James is still producing at a high level at 41. Across 60 games in the 2025-26 campaign, he averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game. In the playoffs, he added 23.2 points, 7.3 assists and 6.7 rebounds per contest.
The 76ers went 45-37 last season and finished seventh in the Eastern Conference. They then stunned the Boston Celtics with a 3-1 series comeback before being swept by the New York Knicks in the East Semifinals.
Now, Philadelphia heads into a season with real championship expectations. With a starting five that can overwhelm teams when healthy, the 76ers are positioning themselves for a run at their first NBA title since 1983.
