Under head coach Jeff Moore, Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts has become more than just a prep school football program - it’s a pipeline. A destination.
A place where Power Four recruiters make it a point to stop, because they know there’s real talent brewing under Moore’s watch. His reputation for developing next-level players on the New England prep circuit is well-earned, and now that reach is stretching far beyond the region.
Case in point: Xander Odenyo.
The 2028 wide receiver hails from Canada, but he’s quickly becoming a name to know in American recruiting circles. After transferring to Tabor Academy for his sophomore season, it didn’t take long for major programs to take notice.
In fact, Syracuse offered him a scholarship before he even took a snap for Moore. Boston College followed suit in mid-October, and the momentum hasn’t slowed since.
January’s contact period turned the heat up even more. Duke, Penn State, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest all jumped into the mix, extending offers to the rising prospect. And it’s not just the quantity of offers that stands out - it’s the quality of attention he’s getting.
When Penn State came calling, it wasn’t just a letter in the mail. Head coach Matt Campbell, offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Taylor Mouser, and running backs coach Savon Huggins all made the trip to Tabor Academy in person. That kind of visit sends a message: Odenyo is a priority.
And it looks like the interest is mutual. Odenyo is planning a visit to State College this spring, where he’ll get a closer look at what Penn State has to offer. With his recruitment heating up and more eyes turning his way, don’t be surprised if even more Power Four programs get in line.
For now, Odenyo is another example of how Tabor Academy - and Jeff Moore - continue to shape the future of college football, one recruit at a time.
