Penn State's football program is gearing up for an exciting season with a fresh roster, thanks to a recent coaching change. With new faces arriving on campus in January, the team is setting the stage for spring practices.
Among the key additions is quarterback Rocco Becht, a familiar face for head coach Matt Campbell. Becht spent the last three years directing Iowa State's offense under Campbell, offensive coordinator Taylor Mouser, and quarterbacks coach Jake Waters.
Campbell, speaking highly of Becht, emphasized the quarterback's significance to the team. "Having Rocco finish his career with us is critical," Campbell noted.
"He truly embodies the excellence this program represents, both on and off the field. He's one of the greatest leaders I've ever encountered."
Currently, Campbell is on the mend from offseason shoulder surgery but took a moment to highlight Becht's resilience. "Last year, Rocco played through a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder," Campbell explained. "He endured weekly shots just to practice and play, giving us a fighting chance in every game."
With Becht's leadership and determination, Penn State fans have plenty to look forward to as the new season approaches.
