Nick Singleton Stuns NFL Scouts Despite Major Setback in Pre-Draft Journey

Despite a broken foot sidelining his workouts, Nick Singleton remains focused on proving his NFL potential through interviews and highlighting his versatile skill set.

Nick Singleton’s journey through 2025 was a rollercoaster, falling short of the Penn State rushing record he had his eyes on and wrapping up his senior year with a career-low 549 rushing yards. Yet, the NFL draft beckons, and Singleton is keen to show he's still among the top running back prospects.

Unfortunately, his pre-draft campaign hit a snag at the Senior Bowl with a broken foot, sidelining him from workouts and testing. “It is a little frustrating,” Singleton admitted at Penn State Pro Day.

“But I kept my head down, stayed close to my circle, and talked to the right people. I’m feeling better.”

Despite the setback, Singleton made his presence felt at the NFL scouting combine in February. He engaged with the Atlanta Falcons, Indianapolis Colts, and Detroit Lions, among others, emphasizing his readiness and versatility. His mantra to teams: “I’m still here.”

“I’m getting better every day,” Singleton assured. “I’m still that same player-running, catching, blocking. I’m a complete back.”

Interviews have become Singleton’s main stage to shine, and he's embraced the opportunity to discuss strategy and skills with coaches and scouts. His prowess in kick-returning has been a hot topic, and Singleton is quick to highlight how special teams can fast-track a rookie's career.

At the combine, Singleton was in a boot, but by pro day, he was up and walking freely. With plans to start running next week, he aims to be fully ready before the NFL draft, hoping to share some fresh footage with teams. Though unable to showcase his athleticism physically, Singleton remains optimistic.

“It’s definitely frustrating,” he reflected. “But being here with my teammates and family means a lot.”

As the draft approaches, Singleton’s exact landing spot is uncertain, projected as a late Day 2 or early Day 3 pick. Regardless, when his name is called, he’ll be surrounded by family and friends who've supported his NFL dreams.

Singleton’s legacy at Penn State is something he cherishes, hoping to be remembered among the greats. “I don't know if I’m gonna cry, but I’ll definitely feel the moment,” he shared. “I’m gonna enjoy it with my family.”
