4-Star RB Set To Reveal Penn State Decision

Penn State's pursuit of 4-star running back Isaiah Rogers heats up as he plans to announce his college choice, bringing clarity to the Nittany Lions' hopes for the Class of 2027.

Penn State football is eagerly anticipating its first Class of 2027 commitment, and Monday could be a pivotal day. The Nittany Lions are in the mix for a talented four-star running back, Isaiah Rogers, who has announced that his decision is imminent.

Isaiah Rogers, a standout from Springfield Central High School in Massachusetts, made waves with his recent declaration on social media: "Forget top schools! I am committing Monday 3/30!" This announcement has set the stage for a showdown among four programs: Penn State, Indiana, Georgia, and Notre Dame.

Rogers, ranked 237th overall in his class and 15th among running backs, brings a dynamic skill set to the table. His junior year stats are impressive, with 986 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on 126 carries, complemented by 401 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 37 catches. His versatility extends beyond the gridiron as he also excels in track and field.

According to 247Sports' director of scouting, Andrew Ivins, Rogers possesses a unique ability to navigate traffic with impressive tempo, making him a threat to break off big plays. His dual-threat capability as a runner and receiver makes him an enticing prospect for any college program.

While Rivals currently favors Notre Dame as the frontrunner, with an 89.4 percent chance of securing Rogers' commitment, Penn State remains in contention with a 3.6 percent chance. Rogers has already visited Notre Dame for their Junior Day event and has an upcoming visit scheduled with Indiana in June.

As the clock ticks down to his announcement, the Nittany Lions are holding out hope that they can secure this promising athlete. With his combination of speed, agility, and receiving prowess, Rogers could be a game-changer for whichever team lands him.
