The Buffalo Sabres are set to put a new look on the ice tonight, becoming one of the first teams to debut the NHL’s Hometown Remix jerseys when they host the Ottawa Senators at KeyBank Center.
The league’s special-edition uniform collection, created with Fanatics, launched November 2 and is tied to the 2026-27 season. Every one of the NHL’s 32 teams got its own design, with the idea of blending team identity, history and local culture into something that feels different from the standard home-and-away setup.
Buffalo’s version leans into the city’s history as the “City of Light,” giving the Sabres a fresh uniform with a local nod built into the design. The team will wear the new jerseys for the first time Wednesday, November 4, with puck drop against Ottawa scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Sabres’ Hometown Remix look won’t be a one-night showcase, either. Buffalo is scheduled to wear the jerseys eight times this season, including home games against the New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings and Nashville Predators.
Fans who want the same design can already get in on the rollout. The full Hometown Remix collection is available through Fanatics and includes Premium jerseys, Authentic Pro jerseys, T-shirts, hoodies, hats and other apparel for all 32 teams.
The Authentic Pro version matches the on-ice construction worn by NHL players, while the fan version gives supporters the same special-edition style in a more accessible form. The collection is built around each franchise’s heritage and hometown culture, giving every team a distinct alternate identity for the season.
Across the league, the Hometown Remix uniforms are scheduled to appear in 261 games during the 2026-27 season, including 19 games where both teams will wear their special-edition jerseys. It’s the first league-wide, 32-team special-edition uniform program Fanatics has produced since becoming the NHL’s official on-ice uniform partner in 2024.
For Sabres fans, though, the main event comes tonight: the first chance to see Buffalo’s new Hometown Remix jersey in game action.

Senators Get A Big Chance To Halt Their Slide In Buffalo
A trip to KeyBank Center offers Ottawa a clean chance to steady itself after a rough patch, and the timing is useful for a team that still sits at 9-6-1. Buffalo brings a different kind of challenge into the matchup, riding a three-game winning streak and getting solid production from Tage Thompson, Jack Quinn, Zach Benson and Rasmus Dahlin, so the Senators will need a sharper night from their core to keep pace.
Tim Sttzle remains central to Ottawa's push, with Drake Batherson and Shane Pinto also expected to be key pieces as the Senators try to turn recent struggles into something more manageable. In goal, Samuel Ersson is back in the spotlight after his first Ottawa victory, and another strong outing would go a long way toward settling things down for a club looking for traction in a crowded early-season race. Senators Give Two Depth Names A Big Chance In Buffalo
The Senators will wrap up their five-game road trip in Buffalo with a lineup that looks a lot like the one they used in Anaheim, but there are still a couple of notable changes for a team trying to manage its way through injuries and illness. Samuel Ersson is set to start in goal, while Ottawa continues to lean on its depth pieces as it reaches the final stop of the trip.
Sammy Blais is in line to make his regular-season debut for Ottawa, giving the club another option on the fourth line at a time when it needs bodies to fill out the roster. Carter Yakemchuk is also expected back in the lineup, a chance for the young defenseman to slide in again as the Senators try to finish the trip with a workable mix of experience and fresh legs. Islanders Finally Have Some Hope As Key Reinforcements Near
The Senators had to shuffle their fourth line in Buffalo, where Ridly Greig was unavailable because of an undisclosed injury and Hayden Hodgson stepped in for his spot. It was another small but notable lineup wrinkle for Ottawa, which has had to manage depth carefully as the season moves along and injuries continue to test the forward group.
Greigs absence stood out because he had been a steady presence for the Senators, and the team did not have much to offer beyond the fact that he was out. With the injury still undisclosed, Ottawa will be watching closely to see how long it lingers, especially with the club already leaning on its depth options to cover for missing pieces.
