Magic Suffer Brutal 31-0 Collapse Vs Raptors

Orlando Magic face a staggering 31-0 run and crushing defeat against the Raptors, challenging their Eastern Conference ambitions.

The Orlando Magic faced a night they'd surely like to erase from memory, suffering a staggering defeat at the hands of the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.

Coming into the game, the Magic were holding their own in the Eastern Conference, aiming for a top-six finish despite missing their star wing, Franz Wagner, due to injuries. They started strong, taking a 20-14 lead midway through the first quarter. But that was the high point for Orlando as the Raptors unleashed a jaw-dropping 31-0 run, setting an NBA record for the largest unanswered scoring streak, according to league insider Brett Siegel.

The Raptors seized the momentum and didn't let go, cruising to a commanding 139-87 victory. This was a game where shot selection, ball movement, and turnovers painted the full picture.

Toronto was firing on all cylinders, hitting 57% of their shots, racking up 41 assists, and keeping their turnovers to a mere 11. In stark contrast, the Magic struggled, making only 38% of their attempts, managing 20 assists, and committing a whopping 28 turnovers.

Despite the tough loss, three Magic players managed to score in double digits. Desmond Bane led with 17 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Jalen Suggs added 13 points and five assists, while Tristan da Silva chipped in with 12 points and three rebounds.

This defeat drops Orlando to a 39-35 record, placing them eighth in the Eastern Conference. They're currently ahead of the Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets but trail the Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks.

The Magic will aim to rebound in their next game at home against the Phoenix Suns, with tip-off scheduled for March 31 at 7 p.m. ET.
