Oklahoma State’s football weekend may have grabbed the spotlight, but the Cowboys’ basketball staff had a pretty important visitor in town, too.
Class of 2027 five-star wing Moussa “Paris” Kamissoko was on campus at OSU this weekend, and he made the trip alongside 2027 commit Tyson Pogi. The 6-foot-8 prospect is one of the biggest names in the class, checking in at No. 14 in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Kamissoko, who is from the Bronx and is set to finish his prep career at SPIRE Academy in Ohio, already has a long list of offers. OSU is in the mix with schools including BYU, Syracuse, Florida State, Virginia, Illinois, UConn, Baylor, Kentucky and others.
His summer run with the PSA Cardinals on Nike’s EYBL circuit showed exactly why so many programs are involved. In 18 games, Kamissoko averaged 16.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 35% from 3.
The ceiling popped in a game against Team Why Not, where he went for 30 points on 11-for-17 shooting, added 10 rebounds and grabbed three steals. He also turned in a strong Peach Jam showing in July, piling up three double-doubles in five games. In one of the games that didn’t reach double-digits in both categories, he still posted 26 points and eight rebounds.
Kamissoko is clearly taking full advantage of the expanded visit window. 247Sports’ Dushawn London reported in August that he had trips lined up to Florida State on Aug.
28, Syracuse on Sept. 3, Virginia on Sept.
5, Oklahoma State on Sept. 12, BYU on Sept.
15, Illinois on Sept. 18, UConn on Sept.
25, Louisville on Oct. 6 and Baylor on Oct. 16.
He has already shared photos from visits to Florida State and Syracuse, and he also posted photos from a trip to Providence. That means Steve Lutz and his staff still have work ahead if they want to land his commitment.
The timing of this OSU visit couldn’t have hurt. Kamissoko was in Stillwater for the Cowboys’ upset win over Oregon, giving him a look at the fanbase at its loudest. And with Pogi on the same trip, Oklahoma State had a little extra company in its corner, too.
