The Cowboys are facing a roster challenge as they head into Wednesday’s clash against Kansas, now down to 14 players. The team announced that Greek forward Lefteris Mantzoukas has parted ways with the program.
OSU coach Steve Lutz shared, “Lefteris Mantzoukas has decided to withdraw from Oklahoma State University to focus on his health. Lefty has been a tremendous teammate and person during his time in Stillwater and will be deeply missed.
While we are disappointed to see him step away, we understand this was not an easy decision for him and those close to him. We fully support Lefteris and wish him nothing but the very best as he continues to prioritize his health and well-being.”
Mantzoukas arrived in Stillwater as a 22-year-old freshman, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his time in the Greek Basketball League. His resume includes stints with 2024 EuroLeague champion Panathinaikos Athens and appearances on Greece’s junior and senior national teams.
Throughout the early part of OSU’s season, Mantzoukas was a regular on the court, starting six consecutive games from November 19 to December 13. His last appearance before a break came in the Bedlam matchup against OU.
Mantzoukas returned to action on February 4, contributing 11 minutes in a significant victory over BYU. He logged 13 minutes against Arizona, missed the Arizona State game, and played eight minutes in the recent loss to TCU.
In his OSU tenure, Mantzoukas played 12 games, averaging 4.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest. His departure leaves a notable gap in the lineup, but the focus remains on supporting his health journey.
