Oregon State receiver Jesse Legree keeps stacking up weekly hardware, and the freshman race in the Pac-12 is starting to look lopsided.
For the fourth straight week, Legree was named the Pac-12 Conference freshman of the week after another productive outing for the Beavers. On Monday, the conference recognized him for his latest performance, which came in Oregon State’s 55-10 win over Utah State on Saturday.
Legree finished with five catches for 107 yards and two touchdowns. That pushed his season total to 363 receiving yards, the second-most in the nation. He also ranks in the top five nationally in touchdown catches and yards per reception, with six touchdowns and 24.5 yards per catch.
He’s the first Oregon State player to win freshman of the week four or more times. Running back Damien Martinez was honored three times in 2022.
Legree wasn’t the only Beavers player singled out. Freshman running back Rayshon Luke earned offensive player of the week after his first career rushing game, going for 100 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries in the Bulldogs’ defeat of Rice 27-24.
Utah State safety Bravin Jambor was named defensive player of the week after a season-high 12 tackles in Aggies’ 21-10 against Troy. Texas State’s Dameon Crowe collected special teams player of the week after a 55-yard punt return for a touchdown in the Bobcats’ 34-10 over Incarnate Word.
Oregon State’s next game is at Colorado State on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Beavers are 2-2, and Colorado State is 2-2. The game will air on USA Network, with radio coverage on KEJO (1240 AM).
