It's that time of year when college football programs are lining up their official visits, and the Cowboys have their sights set on a promising talent heading to Stillwater in late May.
Javian Jones-Priest, a highly regarded running back, announced on social media that he's scheduled an official visit to Oklahoma State from May 29-31. Ranked No. 333 in the 247Sports Composite for the 2027 class, Jones-Priest stands out as the No. 24 running back and is among the top 50 players from Texas.
Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 190 pounds, Jones-Priest is a standout at Arlington-Martin High. Last season, he racked up 1,154 yards and scored 12 touchdowns over 10 games, according to MaxPreps.
But Jones-Priest isn't just making waves on the football field. He's also a track star, clocking a blazing 10.49 in the 100 meters last year and a 10.64 this season. His speed is further highlighted by a personal best of 21.68 in the 200 meters this year.
Eric Morris and his team have been keen on Jones-Priest for a while, and the fresh appeal of Oklahoma State could make a difference in their recruitment efforts. His first Division-I offer came from North Texas last April, and since then, he's amassed 29 offers from schools like Oregon, Baylor, SMU, Texas Tech, TCU, and Iowa.
The Cowboys are still on the hunt for their first commitment for Morris' 2027 class. Morris mentioned earlier that due to recent transitions, they feel a bit behind in securing 2027 recruits, but there's still time. As it stands, OSU and BYU are the only Big 12 teams without a 2027 commitment, while five other programs have just one.
