Dan Lanning's fourth recruiting class made a splash right out of the gate, with the 2025 newcomers making significant contributions to the Ducks' season. Many of these players stepped into important roles, with some even securing starting positions.
Out of the 19 freshmen who joined the team last year, seven played enough games to avoid redshirting. Running backs Jordon Davison and Dierre Hill Jr., wide receivers Dakorien Moore and Cooper Perry, outside linebacker Nasir Wyatt, and cornerbacks Brandon Finney Jr. and Na'eem Offord became familiar names to Oregon fans. However, there are still eight redshirt freshmen on the roster who haven't had their moment in the spotlight yet.
Today, we wrap up our series by focusing on offensive lineman Demetri Manning.
Recruiting Ranking: Four-star / 16th interior offensive line prospect
Games Played in 2025: One
What He Brings to the Table: Manning is a formidable presence on the field, known for his prowess in the run game. Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 330 pounds, he boasts an impressive wingspan and a solid build, making him a standout among the 2025 O-Line recruits.
His high school days saw him playing left tackle in Bellevue's run-focused system, but he's since transitioned to guard. This move suits his size, strength, and aggressive style, particularly in run blocking.
Manning made his debut at right guard during his lone appearance in 2025.
Areas for Improvement: Manning's quickness and agility in pass protection remain somewhat untested, largely due to Bellevue's run-heavy offense. Moving to guard could help him as he hones his pass-blocking skills.
Since high school, he's shed 15 pounds, a positive step towards improving his athleticism. However, further slimming down might be necessary to enhance his effectiveness at this level.
Expected Role in 2026: The Ducks have a clearer picture of their interior O-Line than the outside, with 2025 starter Dave Iuli returning. This leaves just one starting guard position open.
Manning is certainly in the mix for the spot, thanks to his size, but it's more likely he'll serve as a reserve in 2026. This could be beneficial, allowing him time to develop further and refine his skills.
