Oregon Unveils A Rare Halloween Look At A Crucial Time

The Oregon Ducks are set to take the field in show-stopping new uniforms for their Halloween matchup, blending innovative design with traditional elements to captivate fans and challenge Northwestern.

Oregon is keeping things sharp, dark and simple for Halloween night.

The Ducks, coming off a 21-10 road loss to Illinois, will try to get back on track against Northwestern at Autzen Stadium in a Game 8 matchup that arrives with plenty of noise around the program. Dante Moore’s season is over, Dan Lanning has brought in new play-caller Jay Johnson, and Lanning has also pointed to the challenge of facing familiar Northwestern offensive coordinator Chip Kelly’s Wildcats. But the uniform reveal had its own spotlight, and Oregon leaned into the holiday with a black-and-white look built for a night game.

Sophomore running back Dierre Hill Jr. modeled the combination. Hill has 79 carries for 378 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, along with 20 catches for 209 yards as a receiver.

The outfit features the “Fly Era” black and silver jersey from the 2024 “Generation O” collection, paired with a black matte helmet and a white wing. The rest of the look carries the same theme: white undergarments, white cleats with black detailing, and white pants with silver detailing from the “Warp Speed” all-white inverse of the “Fly Era” uniform.

Uniform analyst and graphic designer Jonah Henderson said this is the first Oregon uniform to pair a black jersey with white pants, and also the first time white wings have appeared on a black helmet.

The Ducks matched the uniform drop with a stripped-down video, much like the last two releases. It opens in black and white with different shots of the uniform, then ends with Hill sitting on a stool. As he slowly looks up, the video shifts to color before cutting to Oregon’s alternative “world” logo.

For fans heading to Autzen, the suggested look is black. Green has been the most common fan color this season, with five games on the schedule, while yellow and black have each appeared three times. This game is the second of three black-out nights, with the home regular-season finale against Washington still ahead.

Oregon’s uniform identity has long been tied to Nike, and the Ducks’ partnership with the brand has been built around the company testing new technology while also boosting Oregon’s image. The program’s uniform choices are put together through a collaborative process involving Nike, designers such as Van Horne Designs, Oregon Football Equipment Administrator Kenny Farr, and a board of selected athletes who weigh in on design and scheduling.

Oregon's Offense Just Got Needed Help As Bigger Absences Loom

Oregons passing game is getting a timely boost as it heads into the Northwestern matchup, with three wide receivers who sat out the Illinois game expected back in the mix. Evan Stewart, Jalen Lott and Messiah Hampton should all be available, which gives the Ducks a little more room to work after a stretch where the offense has had to absorb more than its share of absences.

The return help comes with plenty still unsettled, though. Jeremiah McClellan remains sidelined by a foot injury, Dante Moore is not expected to play again this season after suffering a concussion, and the offensive line remains shorthanded with Dave Iuli and Matthew Johnson out indefinitely following surgeries. Freshman Immanuel Iheanacho is questionable, though he is expected to be available, leaving Oregon to piece together its protection and skill group as it tries to stabilize the offense. Oregon May Finally Be Getting Needed Offensive Help Back

Oregon has spent most of the season patching together its offense through injuries, and the latest practice news offers a much-needed lift. The Ducks have already taken major hits with Dante Moore out for the year, while Dave Iuli and Matthew Johnson both underwent surgeries, leaving the group thinner than anyone would have expected this early in the schedule.

Now the receiver room is starting to trend in a better direction, with Evan Stewart, Jalen Lott and Messiah Hampton all returning to practice ahead of the Northwestern game. For an offense that has been forced to manage around so many absences, getting that kind of depth back could matter quickly, especially with a road test looming and Northwestern also getting some of its own injury help in tight end Luke Dehnicke. Oregon Just Unveiled A Week 9 Look Fans Will Debate

Oregon is leaning into its trademark flair again, and this weeks reveal should give fans plenty to argue about before kickoff. The Ducks announced a new black-and-white uniform combination for the upcoming game against Northwestern, and the look arrives with a few firsts for the program, including black helmets with white wings, black jerseys with grey and green numbers, and white pants.

The unveiling came through running back Dierre Hill Jr. on social media, which only added to the buzz around another one-off Oregon design. For a program that has turned uniform reveals into part of its identity, this one fits the usual formula of attention-grabbing and a little unexpected, the kind of set that will be judged as much for the statement it makes as for how it looks once the Ducks take the field.
