Oregon’s first Big Ten road test is a big one, and the Ducks are heading straight into the spotlight.

12 USC on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in a top-20 matchup that opens conference play for the Ducks. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
PT, and NBC will carry the game nationally. Oregon comes in at 2-1, while USC is 4-0 overall and already 1-0 in Big Ten play.
Dan Lanning hasn’t tried to shrink the moment. Earlier this week, the Oregon coach made it clear he sees the trip for what it is.
"It's certainly not just another game," Lanning said earlier this week. "It's a great way to start Big Ten play."
He also called USC "a really big challenge" and said the Coliseum atmosphere will be "unbelievable." Still, his message to the Ducks has been centered on the work in front of them, not the noise around it. Lanning said Oregon needs to focus on "the game and not the occasion" while aiming to be "the best version of us."
The Ducks arrive after an 84-0 rout of Portland State, a night that turned into a full-blown record book exercise. Oregon set a modern-day program scoring record, piled up a school-record 12 touchdowns and finished with 43 first downs, another program mark. On defense, the Ducks gave up just 103 total yards, including two rushing yards, and posted the program’s 15th shutout.
Dante Moore barely needed a second half against Portland State. The Oregon quarterback played only the opening two quarters and still went 19 of 23 for 280 yards and four touchdowns. Through three games, Moore has completed 61 of 89 passes for 849 yards with nine touchdowns and no interceptions.
Saturday also sends Oregon back to the Coliseum for a regular-season game for the first time since 2019. The Ducks did play there in the 2020 Pac-12 Championship Game, but this is their first regular-season trip to Los Angeles in nearly seven years.
The recent history between these teams leans Oregon’s way, even if USC still holds the all-time edge. The Ducks have won four straight over the Trojans, six of the last seven and eight of the last 10.
Oregon beat USC 42-27 in Eugene last season after a 36-27 win in 2023. The last two times the Ducks played in Los Angeles, they left with wins as well: 31-24 in the 2020 Pac-12 title game and 56-24 in the 2019 regular season.
USC still leads the series 38-24-2 overall and has a 24-9-1 advantage in games played in Los Angeles.
There’s another number Oregon will have in mind: 10. The Ducks are 9-0 in Big Ten road games and can move to 10-0 with a win Saturday. Under Lanning, Oregon is 18-3 in true road games.
Last season’s meeting in Eugene ended with Oregon in control. Moore threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns, the Ducks scored four first-half touchdowns and never trailed after taking the lead in the second quarter.

Oregon Is Bringing Back A Look USC Fans Wont Forget
Oregon is dusting off one of its most recognizable looks for a game that already carries plenty of attention. The Ducks announced they will wear their Stormtrooper uniform combination against USC, bringing back the white jerseys with green numbers, white pants and the silver helmet topped with white feathers for another clash with the Trojans.
It is the kind of throwback that tends to land especially well when USC is on the other sideline, because Oregon has used a similar setup before in a 2025 game and, most memorably for Ducks fans, in that 2012 meeting with USC.
