Music Star's QB Son Commits To Surprise Program

Bo Bryan, rising quarterback talent and son of famed country musician Luke Bryan, joins Georgia Bulldogs for the 2027 season, fulfilling a cherished family dream.

Bo Bryan’s decision gave Georgia another quarterback in the fold Sunday night, and it comes with a familiar last name attached. The 3-star 2027 passer, son of country music star Luke Bryan, announced his commitment to the Bulldogs on X less than a week after Georgia extended an offer.

Bryan is coming out of Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tenn., where coach Bobby Bentley described him as a pocket passer with a “very good” arm. Bentley also pointed to the way Bryan handles the position beyond just throwing the ball.

“He understands spatial awareness in the passing game,” Bentley said. “A team leader in the locker room, the epitome of what a quarterback represents on and off the field.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Bryan is a first-year starter who missed time after breaking his collarbone in a game on Oct. 16.

Even so, his recruitment had already started to pick up. He also held offers from Arkansas State, Tennessee Tech, Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky.

Bentley said LSU , SMU and Virginia “all wanted to have a spot for him, but this deal with Georgia is a little bit different because it’s one of those spots where he always wanted to go there.”

Luke Bryan has been around the program, too. A big Georgia fan, he co-headlined a concert last spring in Sanford Stadium with Jason Aldean and is a judge on ABC's "American Idol," but Bentley said his role in his son’s development has been steady and low-key.

“He’s not a helicopter dad,” Bentley said. “He’s not questioning me, he’s not questioning our staff.

He’s not one of those guys that carries his weight into a meeting. Everybody knows who his Dad is, but his Dad has a been good asset to our staff and to our culture, honestly.

He’s helped us out a lot just by buying into the positivity of what we’re trying to build here.”

Bryan visited Georgia’s camp this past summer, and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo has also been to the school. Bentley, who worked as an offensive assistant under Bobo at South Carolina in 2020, said the fit has made sense from the start.

“He fits Bobo and how he wants to be coached,” Bentley said. “I think it’s been a good match. They’ve done a good job recruiting him and the kids at our school.”

Georgia’s quarterback group for 2027 now includes Bryan and four-star Colton Nussmeier of Archbishop Rummel in Metairie, La. The Bulldogs also picked up four-star 2028 offensive offensive lineman Koehn Dial earlier this month.

Bryan’s production this season backed up the interest. In a spread offense, he completed 114-of-155 passes for 2,100 yards with 30 touchdowns in 7 games. Bentley said, “It’s a lot of stuff that Bobo does,” adding, “Almost every concept that they do.”

Bo Nix And Bucky Irving Kept Oregons NFL Buzz Alive

Former Oregon standouts kept the Ducks pro pipeline in the spotlight over the weekend, with Bo Nix and Bucky Irving both turning in performances that will resonate back in Eugene. Nix sparked the Denver Broncos with a 62-yard touchdown run and finished with 222 passing yards and a touchdown, while Irving gave the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a jolt on the ground with 106 rushing yards and two scores.

Tez Johnson also found the end zone for Tampa Bay and added rushing yards, adding another layer to Oregons presence across the league. On the defensive side, Dillon Thieneman and Noah Sewell helped the Chicago Bears in their win over the New England Patriots, a reminder that the Ducks NFL footprint is stretching well beyond the usual spotlight names. Oregons Scoring Problem Just Put Dan Lanning Under Real Pressure

After a 21-10 loss to Illinois, Oregon made a change on the offensive side that had been building for weeks, parting ways with offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer in his first season on the job. For a program that came into the year expecting more from its attack, the move underscored how quickly patience can disappear when the offense stalls and the losses start to pile up.

Dan Lanning did not immediately name a replacement play-caller, leaving the Ducks with an obvious next question as they try to steady things before the season slips further. The timing makes the decision as much about urgency as accountability, and it puts the spotlight squarely on how Oregon plans to fix an offense that has struggled to find consistency. [Read more 🡒]

Oregons Trip To Ohio State Suddenly Feels Like A Real Opportunity

The calendar has finally put Oregons visit to Ohio State on the board, with the Big Ten announcing kickoff time and TV details for the November 7 matchup. It is a game that already carried plenty of weight, but the atmosphere around it has shifted noticeably in recent days as both teams head into it with questions that were not on the table when the schedule was first drawn up.

Ohio State will have to adjust without starting quarterback Julian Sayin, who is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury, and backup Luke Fahey is expected to get the nod. Oregon, meanwhile, comes in unranked at 4-3 after parting ways with offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer, but Dylan Raiolas recent improvement has at least given the Ducks a clearer path into a game that now feels far more open than it did a week ago.
