Michigan also gave the rankings race a jolt. After looking far less convincing against Western Michigan last weekend, the Wolverines turned in a much sharper performance against Oklahoma and walked away with a 17-10 victory to move to 2-0.
Oregon, meanwhile, went the other direction. The Ducks had been flirting with disaster already, and this week it caught them in a 39-31 loss to Oklahoma State.
That result came against a team that won one game last season and had been beaten by Tulsa in Week 1.
