Ole Miss Schedule Sets Up Two Rivalry Dates Mississippi State Fans Will Circle

Can the Ole Miss Rebels capitalize on new talent and a packed home-heavy schedule to reverse last season's misfortunes?

Ole Miss has its 2026-27 basketball schedule locked in, and the Rebels will spend the first part of the year trying to build momentum before SEC play starts Jan. 2 at home against Georgia.

The season opens Nov. 2 against Alcorn State at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network+, the first of four straight home games. From there, Ole Miss gets Central Arkansas on Nov. 6, Southeastern Louisiana on Nov. 10 and Nicholls on Nov. 17, all at 7:30 p.m. and all on SEC Network+.

This is a roster built with a reset in mind. Ole Miss is coming off a 15-20 season, including a 4-14 mark in the SEC, though the Rebels did manage a run to the SEC Tournament semifinals.

The year was also marked by a 10-game losing streak. Now the roster includes returners Patton Pinkins, Ilias Kamardine and Zach Day, along with transfer additions Budd Clark from Seton Hall and Roman Siulepa from Pittsburgh.

The nonconference slate gives Ole Miss a little bit of everything. The Rebels head to Virginia Tech on Dec. 1 for an 8 p.m. game on ACC Network, then return home for William & Mary on Dec.

  1. A pair of neutral-site games follow: ULM on Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. in Southaven, then NC State on Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. in Jackson.

Ole Miss also faces Southern Miss on Dec. 22 at 3 p.m. in Biloxi before closing nonconference play against Jackson State on Dec. 28 at 6 p.m. on SEC Network+.

The Maui Invitational will also shape the early part of the season. Ole Miss opens the event against Clemson on Nov. 23 at 1:30 p.m. on ESPN2, then plays either BYU or Washington on Nov.

  1. The Rebels’ Nov. 25 opponent will be Arizona, Colorado State, Providence or VCU.

Two exhibition games are on the calendar as well. Ole Miss plays Alabama on Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. in Birmingham, with no TV broadcast announced, then hosts UAB on Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network+.

Once January arrives, the SEC grind hits fast. After Georgia at home on Jan.

2, Ole Miss visits Kentucky on Jan. 5 at 6 p.m. on ESPN/ESPN2, hosts Texas on Jan. 9 at 8 p.m. on ESPNU, then goes to Alabama on Jan. 13 and Auburn on Jan. 16.

The Rebels also host Texas A&M on Jan. 23, travel to Vanderbilt on Jan. 27 and Missouri on Jan. 30, then get Kentucky again at home on Feb. 2.

The rest of the conference slate keeps stacking up: at LSU on Feb. 5, at Arkansas on Feb. 9, home against Mississippi State on Feb. 13, Tennessee on Feb. 17, at South Carolina on Feb. 20, at Florida on Feb.

24, Oklahoma on Feb. 27, Auburn on Mar. 2 and then the regular-season finale at Mississippi State on Mar.

Ole Miss Just Got A Week 7 Upset Call In Oxford

The Week 7 matchup in Oxford already had the feel of one of those SEC games that can tilt a season, and it picked up a little more intrigue when Greg McElroy weighed in with an upset pick. The former Alabama quarterback and college football analyst sees Missouri walking into a ranked-versus-ranked showdown and leaving with a win, pointing to the Tigers defense and running game as the traits that could make life difficult for Ole Miss.

There is also a familiar face in the mix, which only adds to the storyline for Rebels fans. Former Ole Miss quarterback Austin Simmons is now with Missouri, giving the meeting an extra layer beyond the usual conference stakes, and it is one more reason this game feels like it could carry more edge than a standard October SEC date in Oxford. Ole Miss Offensive Line Is Earning Trust At The Perfect Time

A lopsided win over Vanderbilt gave Ole Miss more than a clean result on the scoreboard. It also gave Pete Golding a chance to point to the one area he has been waiting to see come together, the offensive line, where all five starters earned player-of-the-game honors for the first time this season. Golding singled out the development of right tackle Connor Howes and left tackle Terez Davis, while also crediting line coach John Garrison for helping the group make steady progress.

Now the timing matters even more with No. 13 Missouri next on the schedule. If the Rebels are going to keep expanding what the offense can do, continued growth up front will be a big part of it, especially against a ranked opponent that will likely make Ole Miss earn every snap. The encouraging part for the Rebels is that the line no longer looks like a question they are simply hoping to survive. [Read more 🡒]

Missouri Brings An Awkward Reunion Into A Huge Ole Miss Test

As Ole Miss gets ready for a pivotal SEC matchup with Missouri, the game carries an extra layer of familiarity for Antonio Kite. The Rebels cornerback said the personal side of the meeting stands out because Missouri brings in former Ole Miss teammate Chris Graves Jr., one of several ex-Rebels now wearing Tiger colors after moving through the transfer portal.

It is the kind of wrinkle that has become more common in college football, where roster turnover can turn a conference game into something closer to a reunion. For Ole Miss, though, the larger issue remains the same: handling a Missouri team loaded with former Rebels and doing enough on Saturday to come away with a conference win. [Read more 🡒]
