Ole Miss Just Landed In The Arch Manning Rumor Storm

Speculation mounts over Arch Manning's potential transfer, with two top SEC programs emerging as the leading contenders for the talented quarterback amidst struggles at Texas.

Arch Manning’s future at Texas is already becoming one of the loudest talking points around the SEC, and the rumor mill has now put two conference powers in the mix if he ever decides to move on.

The latest buzz comes from former ESPN analyst David Pollack, who said an SEC coach told him he expects Manning to leave Texas after this season. Pollack also pointed to Georgia as a school that could make a serious push if Manning enters the transfer portal.

“I think it will make a lot of sense for both to go their own ways, possibly. And I don’t know what’s going to happen the rest of the year, and I don’t know what the coaching situation’s gonna look like,” Pollack said.

He then went a step further and shared what that coach told him about a possible destination.

“That same coach that told me that actually said, ‘I think he’ll go to Georgia.’ But I can’t name names or any of that stuff,” Pollack added.

Manning has not said anything publicly about wanting out, but the speculation has only grown as his season has gone sideways. He came into 2026 with plenty of hype after a strong 2025 campaign, when he threw for 3,163 yards with 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

This year, the production has dipped. Through seven games, he has completed 63.3% of his passes for 1,507 yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Texas’ quarterback situation has also started to draw attention behind him. Before last weekend’s game against Ole Miss, reports said backup KJ Lacey Jr. got a “precipitous uptick in first-team reps,” a sign the staff may be opening the door for a bigger role.

Georgia is not the only school that has been mentioned. NFL insider Tom Pelissero previously brought up Ole Miss as another possible landing spot. On The Bill Simmons Podcast, Pelissero said he asked someone close to Manning where he might be in 2027.

“I texted one person who’s known Arch (Manning) a long time earlier tonight, and I said, ‘Where do you see Arch in 2027?’ And his response was Ole Miss,” Pelissero said.

Draft analyst Todd McShay has also said Manning should think about the transfer portal, though he did not name a school.

For now, Manning is still committed to Texas. What happens next may not get much clearer until the season ends and he has a chance to sort through his options.

Ole Miss Suddenly Has A Linebacker Concern Fans Can't Ignore

Luke Ferrellis night against Auburn ended early, and Ole Miss had to finish the game without one of the linebackers it had been counting on. He was removed from the availability report before kickoff after being listed as probable, then exited in the first half with an unspecified injury and did not return after halftime.

Ferrellis status now adds another layer to a situation that has already drawn plenty of attention around his move to Oxford. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney publicly accused Ole Miss and defensive coordinator Pete Golding of tampering during Ferrellis transfer, and the NCAAs investigation into that matter is still ongoing, leaving the Rebels with an uneasy mix of on-field uncertainty and off-field scrutiny. Ole Miss Has A New Backfield Name Fans Need To Know

Shekai Mills-Knight has become a name Ole Miss fans are hearing more often in the backfield, and the sophomore took another step forward in the first half against Auburn. With Kewan Lacy sidelined by injury, Mills-Knight has seen his playing time rise, and he made the most of the opportunity with a career-high 55 rushing yards and a touchdown before halftime.

A Montreal native who played high school football at Baylor School in Tennessee, Mills-Knight arrived in Oxford as a four-star member of the 2025 class. For a Rebels offense adjusting to life without its usual lead back, his emergence gives the staff another option to lean on while the depth chart continues to sort itself out. [Read more 🡒]

Ole Miss Just Caught Auburn Off Guard In The Worst Way

Ole Miss found a way to turn a grind-it-out drive into one of the strangest scores of the night, with defensive tackle Will Echoles rumbling in for a rushing touchdown on a third-and-goal play. The sequence capped a 17-play, 89-yard march that had already started to wear on Auburn, and it gave the Rebels a jolt in a game that had been defined by physical, back-and-forth football.

Auburn answered with a touchdown on its next possession, keeping the pressure on and making sure the scoreline stayed tight. The game also had the kind of momentum swings that can change everything in a hurry, with an interception and a fumble adding to the tension as both sides looked for a clean stretch to seize control.
