New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart left the first half of the Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams with a knee injury, and the early signs were worrying.
The injury happened on New York’s opening offensive series when Dart got caught between two defenders and his knee bent awkwardly. He stayed down on the field, clutching at the knee, before eventually limping off under his own power and heading to the medical tent. Jameis Winston stepped in for Dart.
The Giants first listed Dart as questionable to return with the knee injury, and he did not take a cart at that point. Later, the team ruled him out for the rest of the game.

Ian Rapoport later reported that Dart has a sprained MCL and is “expected to miss some time,” while avoiding a torn ACL. Shortly after that, Harbaugh was said to have been told “four to six weeks,” though nothing had been made official at that point.
Dart was also seen riding a cart to another part of the stadium, with the belief that he was headed for X-Rays, though that was not confirmed.
The game continued with the Giants forced to move on without their quarterback as the injury updates rolled in.
