Ole Miss got the kind of Saturday night it wanted on the field, but the tailgate scene delivered its own chaos before kickoff.
As the Rebels prepared for their 2026 home opener in Oxford, a pregame video circulating on X showed two women in red dresses getting into a physical fight in the Grove. Old Row posted the clip, which captured the scene as the tailgates filled up ahead of the game.
The footage started with one woman holding another by the hair before the pair were separated. Another Ole Miss fan then fixed her top, rushed in, and punched the other woman in the face.
As the other woman charged back, a third woman stepped in while security moved quickly to break things up.
The game itself was a far cleaner display for Ole Miss.
The Rebels rolled to a 41-9 win over Charlotte on Saturday night, and they did it in convincing fashion from the start. Kewan Lacy scored a touchdown on the opening drive, setting the tone in front of a loud home crowd at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Trinidad Chambliss was nearly perfect at quarterback, completing 23 of 26 passes for 225 yards and throwing two touchdowns.
Ole Miss also smothered Charlotte on defense, keeping the 49ers from ever finding real traction. The Rebels jumped out to a 27-0 halftime lead and never let the game get close. Charlotte managed a few field goals later, but it never came close to threatening a comeback.
The win pushed Ole Miss’ home winning streak to 13 straight games.
