Mizzou Just Got A National TV Snub Fans Wont Ignore

Mizzou's clash with Ole Miss faces a surprising TV snub, stirring frustration among fans over its impact on the teams' visibility and playoff prospects.

Missouri and Ole Miss are getting plenty of attention for all the wrong reasons on Saturday.

The No. 13 Tigers and No.

9 Rebels were assigned to SEC Network, making their showdown the first regular-season SEC game between teams ranked inside the top 13 to miss out on an ABC broadcast since the “SEC on ABC” deal started in 2024. That’s according to St.

Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Eli Hoff, who noted that there had been 12 such SEC matchups before this one, and every single one landed on ABC.

No. 13 #Mizzou and No. 9 Ole Miss have the right to feel snubbed that they'll be playing on SEC Network on Saturday.

That decision didn’t sit well with Missouri fans, who immediately took it as another slight. A few, though, embraced the snub with the same energy the Tigers have carried much of the season.

Love the disrespect.🐯

It's fine. This is what we want. Keep the disrespect flowing.

Brand rankings matter more than AP rankings.

The Tigers and Rebels will kick at 3:30 p.m. ET, the same window as Alabama-Tennessee and Auburn-Georgia. That puts Missouri-Ole Miss in a crowded timeslot, and on paper it’s hard to argue the game isn’t being treated like the odd one out.

There’s no embarrassment in being behind those two matchups on the broadcast list, but the Missouri-Ole Miss game carries serious College Football Playoff weight. It may also end up meaning more than Alabama-Tennessee, where Tennessee is still trying to sort out the quarterback position.

What Just Happened To Florida Changes How Ole Miss Win Looks

Ole Miss win over Florida already had plenty of weight, but the Gators latest stumble only sharpens the way it looks in hindsight. Floridas 38-19 loss to South Carolina was its second straight lopsided defeat, coming after the setback to Missouri, and the slide pushed the Gators out of the Top 25. Add in the injury absence of Vernell Brown III, who has been sidelined by a knee issue, and the offensive concerns around that team suddenly look deeper than a bad afternoon.

For the Rebels, that matters because it changes the texture of a result that once seemed tied more to Floridas preseason standing than to what Ole Miss actually did. Jon Sumralls team still has work ahead, with tougher games waiting and an offensive line that needs to play better, but the ripple effect from Floridas collapse gives the Rebels win a little more credibility. It is the kind of development that can quietly enhance a rsum while the season keeps moving. [Read more 🡒]

Ole Miss Still Has One Big Edge In The SEC Rankings

The latest Coaches Poll brought another round of movement at the top of the SEC, with Georgia jumping to No. 1 after beating Alabama and the Crimson Tide sliding to No. 7. Texas also landed at No. 6, and nine league teams are now in the rankings, a reminder of just how crowded the conference remains from top to bottom. For Ole Miss, sitting at No. 10, the bigger picture matters almost as much as its own slot.

Even with Georgia above everyone else, the Rebels still have a notable edge in the SEC pecking order because the league depth around them keeps piling up ranked opponents and rsum chances. Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi State and LSU are all part of that mix, giving Ole Miss plenty of company inside the poll and plenty of opportunities to move as the season unfolds. The question now is whether the Rebels can turn that crowded leaderboard into a climb of their own. [Read more 🡒]

Ole Miss Just Gave Fans Real Relief On Two Huge Concerns

After a week in which plenty of Ole Miss fans had reason to worry about whether the Rebels could clean up the sloppier parts of their game, Saturday brought a much calmer picture. The offense moved efficiently enough to hang 52 points on Vanderbilt, while the defense complemented it by forcing four turnovers and getting three sacks in a lopsided win that looked more like the kind of complete performance Ole Miss has been searching for.

Suntarine Perkins helped set the tone with a fumble-return touchdown, and Makhi Frazier gave the ground game a steady lift as the Rebels found balance on offense. The bigger takeaway for Ole Miss may be what came with the result, though, because this was the kind of all-around showing that can quiet two nagging concerns at once and leave fans wondering if it signals a real turning point.
