Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford comes with a familiar cast.

7 LSU at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. on ABC, four former Rebels will be on the Tigers’ roster after following Kiffin to Baton Rouge. Three of them are starters, and all four are part of the LSU group trying to beat the program they left behind.
Defensive end Princewill Umanmielen, linebacker TJ Dottery and wide receiver Winston Watkins Jr. all transferred from Ole Miss to LSU and are in key roles. Offensive tackle Devin Harper also made the move, though he has appeared in both LSU games without starting.
Umanmielen was an All-SEC third-team pick last season and has opened this year on a tear, leading the nation with five sacks heading into Week 3. Dottery has been LSU’s tackling leader with 14 stops, building on the SEC-best 98 tackles he posted in 2025. Watkins has been the Tigers’ top target so far, with 12 catches for 153 yards and a touchdown.
There are also some names that might have caused confusion but are not on LSU’s roster. Tight end Dae’Quan Wright and defensive lineman Zxavian Harris are not with the Tigers, even though LSU tried to add them after they signed NFL contracts as undrafted free agents. That effort sparked a court fight between LSU and the SEC, and LSU has since said it will follow the SEC’s ban on rostering former pro players.
The coaching staff got a similar shake-up. Ten coaches and support staff members left Ole Miss for LSU with Kiffin: offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr., tight ends coach Joe Cox, running backs coach Kevin Smith, wide receivers coach George McDonald, analysts Dane Stevens, James Cregg, Swayer Jordan, Chris Kiffin and Lou Spanos, along with strength coach Nick Savage.
The roster movement hasn’t gone only one direction, either. Two players went from LSU to Ole Miss this season: running back JT Lindsey and offensive lineman Carius Curne.
Lindsey is third on the Rebels’ depth chart behind Kewan Lacy and Makhi Frazier, and he has eight carries for 28 yards. Curne has taken part in both games but has not started.
One other notable piece of the picture: Umanmielen and Harper were sued by Ole Miss on July 27 in Lafayette County circuit court over unreceived payments, with the school claiming Umanmielen owes $550,000 and Harper owes $400,000. Umanmielen was served court papers on Sept.

The footage also drew attention from a helicopter pilot who weighed in online, adding to the unease around a moment that could have gone very differently. Holly Rowe and Laura Rutledge were both on the sidelines for ESPNs coverage of LSUs trip to Ole Miss, with Rowe tracking injury updates and Rutledge handling live field reports as the game unfolded. A short on-air transition from one reporter to the other quickly took off on social media, giving viewers another angle to talk about from a game that already carried plenty of attention in the SEC spotlight.
Rowes presence also comes with some added context after her name circulated earlier this year in connection with a false AI-generated video and the public apologies that followed from Texas quarterback Arch Manning and coach Steve Sarkisian. LSU Loss Ended With An Awkward Ole Miss Moment Fans Noticed
Holly Rowe was back on the field Saturday night for LSU vs. Ole Miss, and the Rebels gave her plenty to work with in a 32-24 win that had all the drama a rivalry game can ask for. Trinidad Chambliss led the offense with 363 passing yards and three touchdowns, added a key rushing score, and Jaylon Braxton delivered the game-winning interception to seal it for Ole Miss.
The final whistle, though, was not the only moment fans noticed. During a live postgame interview with Rowe, Chambliss blurted out an expletive in the heat of the moment before later apologizing publicly to her and to viewers.
