TCU Battles Into Overtime Win Against Oklahoma State With Star Performance

TCU extended its winning streak in dramatic fashion, outlasting Oklahoma State in overtime with a wire-to-wire performance fueled by standout individual efforts.

TCU Outlasts Oklahoma State in Overtime Thriller Behind David Punch, Xavier Edmonds

In a Big 12 battle that had everything from buzzer-beaters to breakout performances, TCU found a way to survive and advance, edging Oklahoma State 95-92 in overtime on Saturday. The Horned Frogs never trailed in Stillwater, but it took every ounce of grit - and a little extra basketball - to get it done.

David Punch led the way with 19 points, six rebounds, and three steals before fouling out, continuing his emergence as a key two-way player for TCU. Xavier Edmonds brought the muscle inside, posting a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards, giving the Horned Frogs a crucial interior presence in a game that was as physical as it was fast-paced.

But this one wasn’t sealed until the extra period, and that’s thanks to Oklahoma State’s Parsa Fallah, who sent the game into overtime with a dramatic tip-in at the regulation buzzer. Fallah was a force all night, finishing with 27 points on an efficient 10-of-13 shooting. He was a problem for TCU on the glass and around the rim, and nearly turned the tide in the Cowboys’ favor.

Instead, TCU responded like a team that’s been through the fire. Micah Robinson and Punch each scored four in overtime, while Jayden Pierre delivered the dagger - a clutch three-pointer that gave the Frogs a 91-86 lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Pierre was everywhere in this one. He hit four threes, scored 16, grabbed six rebounds, dished out four assists, and even swatted two shots.

His ability to stretch the floor and make plays on both ends was a major reason TCU kept control for most of the night. Emanuel Miller might be the name most fans know, but Pierre is carving out his own space in this rotation.

TCU came in averaging just seven made threes per game, but they caught fire early and didn’t let up. They hit seven in the first half alone, with Pierre and Jameer Harding each knocking down a pair to help build a 39-34 halftime lead. Harding finished with 15 points, including three triples, giving the Frogs a much-needed perimeter punch.

Robinson added 11, including a key layup in overtime, and reserve Tanner Toolson matched him with 11 off the bench. It was a full-team effort for a TCU squad that’s starting to find its rhythm at just the right time.

For Oklahoma State, the loss marks their third straight - and this one stings. Fallah’s heroics kept them alive, but they couldn’t get over the hump in OT.

Anthony Roy chipped in 16 points, while Kanye Clary nearly posted a double-double with 13 points and nine assists before fouling out. Christian Coleman added 13, and Jaylen Curry gave them 12 off the bench.

The Cowboys had the momentum after Fallah’s buzzer-beater, but TCU didn’t blink. That’s the kind of resilience you need in February, especially in a Big 12 race that’s turning into a dogfight.

TCU has now won three straight, including a statement win over No. 5 Iowa State earlier in the week. They’re trending up, and with a trip to UCF on deck Tuesday, they’ll look to keep that momentum rolling.

This one wasn’t pretty - it was gritty, intense, and full of swings - but in the end, TCU found a way. And in this conference, that’s what separates contenders from the rest.
