Oklahoma State’s 2026-27 Big 12 slate sets up with a familiar bookend: the Cowboys will start conference play at home and finish it there, too.
The league office released the schedule Thursday, and OSU opens Big 12 action on Saturday, Jan. 2 against Colorado before closing the regular-season conference grind on Saturday, March 6 with Arizona State coming to Gallagher-Iba Arena. Tipoff times and television details are still to come.
The Cowboys will see every other Big 12 program at least once across the 18-game schedule. Iowa State, TCU and Utah are the home-and-home opponents, while Cincinnati, Texas Tech, UCF and Arizona also head to Stillwater. On the road, OSU’s league-only trips are Baylor, BYU, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State and West Virginia.
It’s not a light path. Ten of Oklahoma State’s 18 conference games are against teams that reached last season’s NCAA Tournament, and seven are against opponents that finished in the top 25 of the final 2026 NCAA NET rankings. That list includes Arizona, which visits Gallagher-Iba Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 16 after a Final Four run.
The Big 12 again projects to be loaded. The league sent eight teams to the 2026 NCAA Tournament, with three making the Sweet 16, and Arizona was the headline act with its Final Four appearance. The conference also produced a record 13 picks in the 2026 NBA Draft, including nine in the first round.
Oklahoma State is coming off a 20-win season and a second straight postseason berth as it heads into year three under Steve Lutz. The Cowboys also bring in the Big 12’s top-ranked transfer portal haul, according to On3, along with a consensus top-10 high school signing class.
Before the regular season starts, fans can get a first look at the team in free preseason exhibitions against New Mexico on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. and Tulsa on Homecoming Friday, Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m.
The nonconference schedule begins Monday, Nov. 2 against Incarnate Word and includes a Nov. 12 trip to Texas A&M, two games at the Charleston Classic against Minnesota on Nov. 20 and Virginia Tech on Nov. 22, and December home dates with Grand Canyon and Saint Mary’s. OSU also meets Oklahoma in Oklahoma City on Dec. 12 and Northwestern in Tulsa on Dec. 20.
