The Oklahoma State Cowgirls now have the full outline for their 2026-27 Big 12 season, and it starts with a road trip.
The league released its schedule, and OSU will open conference play on Dec. 20 at Kansas in Lawrence. That kicks off an 18-game Big 12 slate for a team trying to do something it has not done since joining the conference: win a title.
Head coach Jacie Hoyt and her staff loaded up in the transfer portal, assembling what the source describes as the best transfer class in the country. The Cowgirls also built a non-conference schedule that sends them away from Stillwater more than usual, including a demanding December stretch.
OSU already knew the shape of its Big 12 opponents. The Cowgirls will play home-and-home series with Colorado, Iowa State and Kansas. That means new center Audi Crooks will return to Ames, Iowa, to face her former team, where she spent the past three seasons before transferring to Oklahoma State.
At home, the Cowgirls will host Arizona, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Kansas State, TCU and West Virginia. West Virginia won the Big 12 Tournament last year, while TCU has claimed the regular-season crown in each of the past two seasons.
On the road, Oklahoma State is set for trips to Baylor, BYU, UCF, Houston, Texas Tech and Utah.
The Big 12 Tournament is scheduled for March 3-7 in Kansas City. Oklahoma State has never won the event, and the program’s last conference tournament title came in 1991, when it was part of the Big Eight Conference.
Before league play gets rolling, the Cowgirls will have plenty of travel on the front end of the schedule. In November, they’ll visit Tulsa and South Dakota State, then go to Kansas City to play Wichita State and head to Coconut Hoops in Fort Myers, Fla., over the Thanksgiving break.
December brings even bigger trips. OSU will travel to Columbia, S.C., to face South Carolina on Dec. 6, then play Oklahoma in Oklahoma City on Dec. 12.
