Oklahoma State kept the momentum rolling Tuesday with another addition to its 2027 recruiting class, landing three-star offensive tackle Gabriel Brooks after he flipped from TCU.
Brooks made the move public on social media, giving the Cowboys their fourth commitment in the past eight days. He joins J’lynnd Kellow, DJ Williams and Bryson Brown in that recent run of additions.
A 6-5, 275-pound lineman from North Crowley High School in Fort Worth, Texas, Brooks is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 176 player in Texas. He had previously flipped his commitment from Stephen F.
Austin to TCU on Sep. 17.
Oklahoma State and TCU are the only power conference schools to offer Brooks.
With his commitment, OSU’s 2027 class now stands at 17 players.

Iowa State Just Raised A Bigger Question Than Last Week's Collapse
Iowa States offense has been rolling, and that only sharpens the concern around Oklahoma State after another rough defensive showing in Big 12 play. The conference picture is shifting quickly, with Colorado finally getting its first league win and Baylor responding to a coaching change with a major victory, but the Cowboys are still searching for answers on that side of the ball.
For Oklahoma State, the issue is no longer just one bad afternoon or one collapse to explain away. The defense has been vulnerable enough to make every upcoming matchup feel like a test of whether the Cowboys can stop the slide, and the next one arrives fast enough to keep the pressure on the staff and the unit alike. Oklahoma State May Have To Reshape Its Defense At Worst Time
Oklahoma State is spending the week trying to sort out its defense after the Iowa State game left a couple of key pieces banged up. Head coach Eric Morris said linebacker Tate Romney and defensive end Jaleel Johnson are dealing with injuries from that matchup, though both are still hopeful to be available for the upcoming game against Kansas State.
The Cowboys are also preparing contingency plans in case either player cannot go, with backup options under consideration as the week unfolds. On the other side of the ball, tight end Carson Kolb has already been ruled out for Saturday because of a foot injury, adding another wrinkle to a game where Oklahoma State may need to adjust on the fly. Oklahoma State Faces A Defining Response Game At Kansas State
Oklahoma State heads to Bill Snyder Family Stadium on Saturday for its lone trip to Kansas this season, with a noon kickoff that will put the Cowboys in an early test away from home. The matchup will air on TNT and HBO Max, giving this one a national stage as Oklahoma State looks to reset the tone in a key Big 12 road game.
Kansas State enters with Blake Barnett set to start at quarterback, as Avery Johnson remains unavailable. For Oklahoma State, that adds another layer to a game already carrying some weight, because a clean response on the road would go a long way toward settling things down before the schedule moves on.
