Tre' Griffiths is on the move.
The redshirt freshman wide receiver from Oklahoma State has announced plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal when it opens next month. Griffiths, a former four-star recruit from Keller, Texas, will explore new opportunities with three years of eligibility still in his pocket.
Griffiths came into the Cowboys’ program as part of the 2024 recruiting class, bringing with him the kind of size and production that turns heads-6-foot-3 frame, strong hands, and a senior year stat line that featured 43 catches for 847 yards and eight touchdowns in just nine games. But in Stillwater, the chances to showcase that talent on Saturdays were limited. He saw action in only two games this season, primarily on special teams, and logged just 10 offensive snaps-those coming in Oklahoma State’s matchup against Colorado.
For a player with his pedigree and potential, it’s not surprising that he’s looking for a fresh start. The transfer portal opens officially on January 2 and runs through January 16, giving players like Griffiths a two-week window to formally enter. While there won’t be a spring window this cycle, players can commit to new programs as soon as the portal opens.
Griffiths becomes one of many young talents across the country weighing their next move in an increasingly active portal era. With his size, athleticism, and high school production, he’ll likely draw interest from programs looking to bolster their receiving corps with a long-term upside play.
Wherever he lands, Griffiths will be a name to watch-especially if he finds a system that lets him stretch the field and contribute early.
