Oklahoma State rolled out its look for Saturday’s game against No. 6 Oregon late Thursday night, and the Cowboys are going with a sharp home combination for the matchup in Stillwater.
The Cowboys will wear orange jerseys with Oklahoma State and game numbers in white with black outline, paired with white pants that feature the OSU logo on the side. On top, they’ll go with the Pistol Pete helmet in white, complete with the mascot logo on each side.
That reveal came after Oregon already introduced a combination it has never worn before. The Ducks will sport a green helmet with a white O logo and a white face mask, along with a white jersey top that has green numbers outlined in yellow and the classic duck logo on the sleeve. Oregon’s look also includes green pants.
Saturday’s meeting will be only the third all-time matchup between the programs. It will also be Oregon’s first trip to Stillwater, and Oklahoma State’s first home game against a Big Ten opponent.
Both teams are coming in off Week 1 results that set up a sharp contrast. Oklahoma State fell 24-10 to Tulsa, while Oregon beat Boise State 34-27.
The Cowboys are also trying to keep a major home streak alive. Oklahoma State has won 30 straight home openers, the longest active run in college football. After the way they played against the Golden Hurricane, extending that to 31 won’t come easy.
There’s also a personnel issue up front. Left tackle Jacob Sexton is out for the season with a lower right leg injury, and Oklahoma State will start either Desmond Magiya or Shaun Torgeson at the spot against Oregon.
After the Ducks visit, Oklahoma State still has one more non-conference game before Big 12 play begins. The Cowboys host Murray State next Saturday at 6 p.m. The Racers, who play in FCS, won one game last season.
Conference play starts for Oklahoma State on the road Sept. 26 at West Virginia in Morgantown. After a bye the next week, the Cowboys return home for their Big 12 opener against UCF.
