Oklahoma State will get bookends at home when Big 12 play arrives in 2026-27.
The Cowboys’ conference slate, released Thursday by the league office, starts Saturday, Jan. 2 against Colorado in Stillwater and ends Saturday, March 6 with Arizona State coming to Gallagher-Iba Arena. Tip times and TV information will come later.
OSU’s 18-game Big 12 schedule sends the Cowboys against every other league member at least once. Three teams - Iowa State, TCU and Utah - are on the home-and-home list, while Cincinnati, Texas Tech, UCF and Arizona are also set to visit Stillwater. The road-only trips are Baylor, BYU, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State and West Virginia.
The matchup list is loaded. Ten of Oklahoma State’s conference games are against teams that made last season’s NCAA Tournament, and seven come against opponents that landed in the final 2026 NCAA NET top 25.
Arizona is part of that group, and the Final Four team will visit Stillwater on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
The Big 12 is again shaping up as one of the country’s deepest leagues. The conference sent eight teams to the 2026 NCAA Tournament, three reached the Sweet 16, and Arizona made the run all the way to the Final Four. The league also had a record 13 players selected in the 2026 NBA Draft, with nine going in the first round.
OSU enters year three under Steve Lutz after winning 20 games and reaching the postseason for a second straight year. On3 lists the Cowboys’ transfer portal class as the Big 12’s best, and their high school signing class is a consensus top 10 group.
Before conference play begins, fans can get an early look at the team with free exhibitions against New Mexico at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, and Tulsa at 2:30 p.m. on Homecoming Friday, Oct. 23.
The regular season opens Monday, Nov. 2 against Incarnate Word, and the nonconference schedule includes a Nov. 12 trip to Texas A&M, Charleston Classic games against Minnesota on Nov. 20 and Virginia Tech on Nov. 22, plus December home dates with Grand Canyon and Saint Mary’s. The Cowboys will also face Oklahoma in Oklahoma City on Dec. 12 and Northwestern in Tulsa on Dec. 20.

After Oklahoma States win over Oregon, Mike Gundy added another off-field tale to his long list of postgame oddities, this one coming on a podcast where he talked about a nuisance on his property that had been tearing up the yard.
