The Oklahoma State Cowboys now know exactly when the Big 12 grind begins.
The conference released its full 2026-27 men’s basketball schedule Thursday, and OSU will open league play at home against Colorado on Jan. 2.
That announcement finishes out a 32-game regular season slate for the Cowboys, who will play 32 games for the first time after the NCAA allowed teams one extra game in 2026-27. Oklahoma State had already put its non-conference schedule on the board earlier this summer, including five high-major opponents.
The Big 12 lineup is a demanding one. The Cowboys drew home-and-home series with Iowa State, TCU and Utah.
They’ll get Arizona, Arizona State, UCF, Cincinnati, Colorado and Texas Tech at home only. Arizona comes in with Final Four credentials from last season.
On the road, OSU is set for Baylor, BYU, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State and West Virginia.
That leaves Oklahoma State with 23 of its 32 games against high-major competition, plus two strong mid-major home games against Grand Canyon and Saint Mary’s.
Before the regular season even starts, the Cowboys will take part in three scrimmages, something the program hasn’t done in recent memory. Two are scheduled for Gallagher-Iba Arena: Oct. 11 against New Mexico and Oct. 23 against Tulsa, with the Tulsa matchup landing during homecoming weekend.
The third scrimmage comes at Wisconsin on Oct. 27.
OSU’s season opener is set for Nov. 2 at home against Incarnate Word. Queens visits on Nov. 6, then the Cowboys head to Texas A&M on Nov. 12 before returning home to face Central Arkansas on Nov. 16.
The schedule also includes the Charleston Classic, where Oklahoma State will face Minnesota on Nov. 20 at 11:30 a.m. on ESPN/2 and Virginia Tech on Nov. 22 at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN/2. The Cowboys are also slated to meet Oklahoma in Oklahoma City on Dec. 12, with the time and TV information still to be determined.
The Big 12 Tournament is scheduled for March 9-13 in Kansas City.

After Oklahoma States win over Oregon, Mike Gundy added another off-field tale to his long list of postgame oddities, this one coming on a podcast where he talked about a nuisance on his property that had been tearing up the yard.
