The Oklahoma Sooners are making another strong move off the field, this time bolstering their recruiting operation. OU is set to bring in Molly Jacoby as the program’s next Director of Recruiting, a hire that adds both experience and momentum to an already energized staff.
Jacoby arrives in Norman with a résumé that’s as well-rounded as it is impressive. A University of Georgia graduate, she earned her marketing degree in 2021 while working as a recruiting analyst for the Bulldogs throughout her undergrad years. That early exposure to one of college football’s premier programs laid the foundation for what’s become a fast-rising career in talent acquisition.
From there, Jacoby took her skills to North Carolina, where she spent four seasons in a variety of key roles, including Director of Recruiting, Director of Recruiting Strategy, and Assistant Director of On-Campus Recruiting. During her tenure, she worked under head coaches Mack Brown and Bill Belichick, gaining valuable insight into two very different - and highly respected - coaching philosophies. Her time in Chapel Hill wasn’t just about titles; she played a central role in shaping the Tar Heels' recruiting blueprint, from strategic planning to on-campus execution.
In 2025, Jacoby joined the Florida State football program as Director of Recruiting Operations, where she helped the Seminoles secure a top-15 recruiting class - no small feat considering FSU went 5-7 on the field. That 2026 class featured 27 signees, showcasing Jacoby’s ability to build relationships and sell a vision even when the win-loss column isn’t doing the talking. That kind of recruiting resilience speaks volumes.
Jacoby’s expertise spans the full spectrum of recruiting operations. She’s led game day recruiting logistics, coordinated official and unofficial visits, and managed large-scale events like junior days and recruiting weekends. She’s also been deeply involved in prospect communication, compliance coordination, and the onboarding process for new student-athletes - essentially, everything that happens from the moment a recruit shows interest to the day they arrive on campus.
Now, she steps into a critical role at Oklahoma, working alongside General Manager Jim Nagy and Head Coach Brent Venables. As Director of Recruiting, Jacoby will oversee year-round recruiting strategy - from visit planning and budget management to ensuring every touchpoint aligns with the program’s values and competitive goals. She’ll be the go-to for prospects and their families, helping to shape not just who the Sooners bring in, but how those relationships are built and sustained.
Jacoby replaces Jolie Ale, who departed for a similar position at Auburn, and her arrival continues a trend of savvy front-office hires for Oklahoma. It’s the kind of behind-the-scenes move that doesn’t always grab headlines - but make no mistake, it matters.
The Sooners are coming off a 10-3 season and a return to the College Football Playoff for the first time since 2019. With momentum building on the field, Oklahoma is making sure the infrastructure off the field is just as strong. Jacoby’s hire is another step in that direction.
The 2026 season kicks off September 5 against UTEP, but the work to shape the next generation of Sooners is already well underway - and Molly Jacoby will be right at the center of it.
