The Oklahoma Sooners appear to have found their final addition, and it comes from inside the SEC.
Oklahoma is expected to land Arkansas transfer defensive tackle Danny Saili, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos and SoonerScoop’s George Stoia. Saili entered the transfer portal in January and comes to Norman with one year of eligibility left.
This is a return to a familiar place for Saili, at least in the recruiting sense. He was originally committed to Oklahoma out of Hutchinson Community College in Kansas in 2023 before flipping to BYU late in the cycle. After one season with the Cougars, he moved on to Arkansas and spent the last two years with the Razorbacks.
Saili appeared in 18 games at Arkansas and finished with 14 total tackles and 2.5 sacks. Pro Football Focus credited him with 379 snaps over the last two seasons, including 313 in 2025, and graded him as a top-20 run defender in the SEC among defensive tackles with at least 170 snaps.
At 6-foot-3 and nearly 320 pounds, Saili brings the kind of bulk Oklahoma can use in the middle. He’ll have a chance to compete for rotational work at nose tackle behind Jayden Jackson, giving the Sooners another body who can hold his ground, absorb double teams and help keep the linebackers clean.
He’s not the type of player who gets knocked backward easily, and that should give Oklahoma another presence in the run game as it rounds out the roster.
