Oklahoma Heads To Mississippi State With One Major Line Concern

As Oklahoma and Mississippi State prepare to face off, injuries loom large with both teams uncertain about the availability of key players, including Oklahoma's Michael Fasusi and Mississippi State's Kamario Taylor.

Oklahoma’s first availability report of the week came with plenty of uncertainty, and the biggest name on it was Michael Fasusi.

The Sooners’ star left tackle is listed as questionable to return ahead of Saturday’s road game at Mississippi State. Fasusi has not played since injuring his shoulder against UTEP in the season opener, so his status remains one of the biggest items to watch as OU heads to Starkville.

Oklahoma also ruled out offensive linemen Ryan Fodje and Eddy Pierre-Louis for the game. Fodje was hurt in last weekend’s loss to Kentucky. Heath Ozaeta landed in the questionable group as well, giving the Sooners four offensive linemen on the report.

The injury list isn’t limited to the line, either. Defensive back Eli Bowen is questionable, while several other Sooners are in uncertain territory: receiver Parker Livingstone, running backs Tory Blaylock and Xavier Robinson, receiver Elijah Thomas, and linebacker Taylor Heim are all listed as questionable or out, along with tight end Trynae Washington, receiver Trell Harris and defensive back Jacobe Johnson.

Mississippi State has its own key concerns. Bulldogs quarterback Kamario Taylor is questionable after injuring his foot against Missouri on Sept. 26, and starting running back Fluff Bothwell is also questionable. The Bulldogs’ report also includes safety Isaac Smith, linebacker Zakari Tillman and offensive lineman DJ Chester as questionable, while linebacker Jalen Smith, receiver Ayden Williams, and defensive linemen Trevion Williams and Diesel Moye are out.

Oklahoma Faces A Frightening Sean Hutton Situation After Practice

A frightening scene unfolded at Oklahoma practice when sophomore offensive lineman Sean Hutton collapsed during a non-contact incident and was taken to a hospital for evaluation. The university confirmed the incident but did not identify Hutton by name, leaving the focus squarely on the young linemans health as the Sooners tried to sort through what happened.

Sean Huttons father, JD Hutton, later provided some detail on the situation and said he had been in contact with Oklahomas coaches and trainers. For a team that has already spent the fall dealing with the usual grind of camp and roster battles, the priority now is simply getting answers and making sure Hutton is taken care of, with more clarity still to come. Texas Suddenly Has A Sarkisian Problem Oklahoma Fans Will Love

Steve Sarkisian entered the season with Texas looking like a team that could steady the pressure around its program, but the last two weeks have changed the tone around Austin quickly. After opening 4-0, the Longhorns have stumbled into consecutive losses to Oklahoma and Florida, and the frustration is starting to show even with the contract extension he signed in January 2025. For Oklahoma fans, the sight of Texas suddenly having to answer bigger questions about its coach is the kind of development that never goes unnoticed.

Now Texas has to turn the page to Ole Miss with the spotlight still fixed on Sarkisian and the direction of the program. He has already committed to Arch Manning as the starting quarterback, but the broader concern is whether the Longhorns can settle things down before the noise around his job security gets louder. Around these parts, any sign of instability in Austin tends to draw attention in a hurry, especially when it arrives this early in the season. [Read more 🡒]

Oklahoma Heads To Mississippi State With One Major Roster Concern

Oklahoma heads into its trip to Mississippi State with some uncertainty up front, and the status of the offensive line will be a key storyline to watch all week. Ryan Fodje and Eddy Pierre-Louis have already been ruled out, trimming the Sooners options as they prepare for another SEC road test, while the injury report still leaves room for some reinforcements to potentially work their way back.

Michael Fasusi, Heath Ozaeta and Eli Bowen are among the players listed as questionable, giving Brent Venables and his staff a few decisions to monitor before kickoff. Venables has sounded optimistic about some injured players returning soon, but for now Oklahoma is left managing a roster issue that could shape how it approaches the game in Starkville. [Read more 🡒]
