With training camp just a weekend away, the Oklahoma City Thunder kept building out their roster on Friday, signing three players to Exhibit-10 contracts: Zhaire Smith, Andrew Holifield and Robert McCray V. All three are expected to take part in the preseason, too.
Smith stands out as the biggest name in the group. He was the No. 16 pick in the 2018 NBA draft and spent two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers before moving through the G League and other stops. He already spent last season with the OKC Blue, where he appeared in 33 games and put up 20.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.
Holifield and McCray V arrive as undrafted rookies from the 2026 NBA draft. Holifield’s final college season came at Lamar, where he averaged 11.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists. McCray V played his last year at Florida State and finished with averages of 16.3 points, 6.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds.
An Exhibit-10 deal is a one-year, non-guaranteed contract that functions as a camp and preseason invitation. Teams often use it to secure G League rights, and in rare cases it can turn into a two-way contract after camp. For Oklahoma City, that’s the point here: getting the G League rights, with all three players likely headed to the Blue.
The Thunder open the 2026-27 season as a co-title favorite with the San Antonio Spurs. Even after a summer of cost-cutting moves, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams are expected to keep OKC in the championship conversation.
