The Thunder will get plenty of national attention to start the 2026-27 NBA season.
The league announced Tuesday that Oklahoma City is part of both Opening Night and Christmas Day, with a marquee road trip to San Antonio on Oct. 20 and a holiday matchup at Minnesota on Dec. 25.
That Opening Night game doubles as a rematch of last season’s Western Conference Finals, when the Spurs beat the Thunder in seven games. Oklahoma City will then open at home two nights later against the Denver Nuggets on Oct. 22.
Christmas brings another big-stage test, this time against the Timberwolves. It’s also a spotlight matchup between Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Anthony Edwards, two of the top players in basketball.
The full 2026-27 regular-season schedule for all 30 teams will be released at 2 p.m. CT Thursday, but the league has already unveiled several of the biggest dates on the calendar.
