The post, shared by TikTok user “KaitSierra | DS mama,” claims she messaged the former Thunder star and asked him to support a school fundraiser. In the screenshot, the fan opens with a joke about Durant “leaving us here in OKC” and asks whether he could “show our fundraiser a little love.”
The alleged reply is the part that set social media off.

In her caption, the TikTok user wrote, “To think this is someone we all used to idolize,” alongside Kevin Durant’s name.
The screenshot later spread on X, where NBA fans piled in with reactions. Some came to Durant’s defense, while others blasted the alleged message.
