OKLAHOMA CITY - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder have done it again. For the second time in just ten days, they've taken down Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, and this time, they did it with style.
Gilgeous-Alexander had a night to remember, tying Wilt Chamberlain's record with 126 consecutive games scoring 20 or more points. He capped it off with a clutch go-ahead three-pointer, sending the Nuggets packing.
Despite missing key players like Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Alex Caruso, the Thunder showed resilience and grit. Gilgeous-Alexander, a strong MVP contender himself, put on a show against a Nuggets team hungry for revenge after last week’s overtime thriller.

“I don’t know that people know how hard it is to do that. To make 20 pointsin 10 (straight) games, not 120 whatever it is, it’s special. He’s a special player.” pic.twitter.com/YMSWvXGbhj
Jalen Williams, watching from the sidelines, couldn't help but voice his support for SGA's MVP case after the 129-126 victory, tweeting, "MVP. Don't think too hard !!!"
Gilgeous-Alexander flirted with a triple-double, racking up 35 points, 15 assists, and nine rebounds, along with a block and a steal. He wasn't alone, though.
Jaylin Williams stepped up with 29 points, hitting a career-high seven threes, and pulled down 12 rebounds. Ajay Mitchell, returning to action, contributed 24 points off the bench, while Isaiah Joe and Jared McCain chipped in 13 points each, both connecting on three triples.
On the other side, Nikola Jokic was his usual self, posting a triple-double with 32 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 assists. Aaron Gordon added 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Tim Hardaway Jr. provided a spark off the bench with 28 points, including eight threes. Jamal Murray also had a solid outing with 21 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.
Jokic had nothing but praise for Gilgeous-Alexander, acknowledging the difficulty of maintaining such a scoring streak. "I don’t know that people know how hard it is to do that.
To make 20 points in 10 (straight) games, not 120, whatever it is, it’s special. He’s a special player," Jokic remarked.
The Thunder, riding a six-game winning streak, are set to face the Celtics at the Paycom Center on Thursday, aiming to keep the momentum rolling.
