Ohio State Targets Top Chicago Talent, Expands Star-Studded Spring Guest List

As Ohio State intensifies its focus on key recruiting areas like Chicago, the Buckeyes aim to secure top talents by hosting elite prospects and strengthening their future lineup.

The recruiting landscape in Chicago is buzzing, especially when it comes to defensive line prospects. Ohio State has its eyes set on this fertile ground, aiming to make a lasting impression on top talents emerging from the area.

One standout from the 2027 class is Brayden Parks from Brother Rice. At 6-foot-3 and 305 pounds, Parks is ranked as the No. 161 player nationally and the 19th best at his position according to the 247Sports Composite. Recently, Parks narrowed his list down to eight schools, and the Buckeyes made the cut, joining the likes of Georgia, Illinois, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Tennessee.

With over 40 offers, Parks is gearing up for a busy spring, planning visits to several top programs. Ohio State will host him on April 4, providing an opportunity for the Buckeyes to showcase what they have to offer. Parks’ visit is crucial as he plans to check out Georgia and Oregon shortly after, making it essential for Ohio State to leave a strong impression.

As spring practice kicks off for Ohio State, it’s not just about developing the current roster. The Buckeyes are also heavily focused on recruiting, with many top prospects set to visit in the coming weeks. This influx of talent is a testament to the program’s strong presence on the recruiting trail.

In addition to Parks, Ohio State is set to welcome 2027 defensive back target Jayden Aparicio-Bailey on March 11. Ranked as the No. 231 player nationally and the 23rd best safety, Jayden’s visit underscores mutual interest. With nearly 30 offers, including one from Ohio State, his visit could set a high bar for other schools.

Ohio State is also making moves with four-star receiver target Benny Easter Jr., who is currently committed to Texas Tech. Scheduled for an official visit on May 29, Easter Jr. is keeping his options open, offering Ohio State a chance to sway his decision.

Another intriguing prospect is 2028 defensive target Kellan Hall, a five-star talent and the No. 8 player overall in his class. Hall is slated to visit Ohio State on April 4, adding to the list of high-profile athletes the Buckeyes are courting this spring.

With a strong recruiting strategy and a lineup of impressive visits, Ohio State is poised to make significant strides in securing top talent for the future.
