Ohio State Stuns as Top 2027 OL Jackson Roper Eyes Visit

Ohio State strategically strengthens its 2027 lineup by targeting top offensive lineman Jackson Roper and hosting five-star talent Marcus Fakatou.

Jackson Roper, a standout offensive lineman from Colorado, has narrowed his top college choices to ten schools, and Ohio State remains a key contender. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 285 pounds, Roper ranks as the 249th player nationally and the 13th best at his position, according to the 247Sports Composite. With over 30 offers, his list now includes Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and USC.

Roper is set to visit Ohio State again in June, reinforcing the Buckeyes' strong interest in him. While Texas A&M currently leads in predictions, the field is still wide open, and Ohio State is keen to secure his commitment.

The Buckeyes are also focusing on bolstering their defensive line for the 2027 class. With DJ Jacobs already committed, they aim to add depth to their roster.

They're preparing for a visit from Marcus Fakatou, a five-star defensive lineman ranked 36th nationally. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound talent has offers from nearly every major program, including Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.

Ohio State's reputation for player development could make a strong impression when Fakatou visits in March.

In other recruiting news, four-star tight end Jaxon Dollar from Denver, North Carolina, remains a top target for Ohio State. Ranked 57th nationally, Dollar will visit the Buckeyes in April as part of his busy recruitment schedule.

Additionally, Ohio State is set to host Austin Phillips, a promising linebacker from Indiana. A high school freshman in the 2029 class, Phillips is already 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, with an early offer from Toledo. His upcoming visit provides Ohio State an opportunity to make a significant impact early in his recruitment journey.
