Ohio State’s pursuit of national top-five forward DeMarcus Henry has gone quiet in recent weeks, but the latest movement suggests the Buckeyes are still very much in the mix.
Henry, who also is the brother of OSU freshman wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., is set to begin an official visit to Louisville today. That news surfaced Monday after the recruitment had gone mostly dark once the travel events wrapped up in early August. Beyond Louisville, his list of top options includes Ohio State, Arkansas, BYU, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina and UConn.
One source said the Buckeyes are keeping Henry’s visit schedule under wraps for now.
"They are keeping his visit plans close to the vest," our guy said. "He is obviously going to make a visit to Ohio State if, for no other reason, to see his brother play football for the Buckeyes.
It was suggested maybe that would happen for one of the bigger games on the schedule like Illinois, Oregon or Michigan. But they have not released any other visit dates beyond Louisville.
"The last I heard, he was using the same agent as his brother. That's believed to be Chafie Fields, who reps some NFL players. That name is familiar because he played defensive back for Penn State in the 1990s.
"There are some real big spenders on that list of schools, obviously. I know Eric Bossi (from 247Sports) said he thought it could come down to Ohio State and North Carolina.
Look at Louisville, as an example. They just brought in seven transfers with big names like Seth Trimble, Alvaro Folgueiras, Karter Knox, Jackson Shelstad and Fiory Bidunga.
They are spending huge money on players.
"We think Ohio State has a larger budget for talent. We know Xavier is pushing the price up on Joshua Tyson, who just visited. This Henry deal might be the new test case to see just how much more (Jake) Diebler has to work with."
With the new era of official visits comes the usual campus tour - and the checkbook that seems to matter just as much.

Ohio States Biggest 2026 Matchups Just Got A TV Hint
The 2026 schedule is starting to take shape for Ohio State, and the latest Big Ten media-rights draft offered a useful hint about two of the Buckeyes biggest regular-season games. Scott Dochterman reported the expected television assignments for Ohio States matchups with Indiana and Oregon, adding to a slate that already has several kickoff times and networks announced, including games against Ball State, Texas, Kent State and Michigan.
