Marvin Harrison Jr. Just Landed In A Familiar NFL Situation

In a strategic move, the Houston Texans acquire wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., reuniting him with former college quarterback C.J. Stroud to bolster their injury-stricken offense.

The Houston Texans have swung big for a new target, landing Marvin Harrison Jr. in a deal that sends the former Arizona Cardinals first-rounder back alongside C.J. Stroud.

Arizona agreed to trade Harrison and a 2027 seventh-round pick to Houston in exchange for a 2027 second-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick, according to Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport. The sides worked through one final hurdle over whether that second-rounder would come in 2027 or 2028, and Houston ultimately gave in on the 2027 pick. The move is expected to become official Monday, once Harrison passes his physical.

The timing lined up neatly for Houston, which picked up its first win of the season Sunday against the Tennessee Titans before the deal came together. The Texans also needed help at receiver, and they’ve got it now. Nico Collins has been dealing with injuries, Jayden Higgins is out for the season with an ACL injury, and Tank Dell is still working back from injured reserve.

For Harrison, the move brings him back to familiar territory. He and Stroud formed a connection at Ohio State in 2021 and 2022, with Harrison’s breakout coming while Stroud was the quarterback.

In Columbus, Harrison put together a monster final two seasons, catching 144 passes for 2,474 yards. He won the Biletnikoff Award in 2023 and finished as a Heisman Trophy finalist, building a résumé that made him one of the most decorated receivers in Buckeyes history.

Arizona drafted Harrison No. 4 overall in 2024, adding a player who arrived with plenty of attention as the son of Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison Sr. He delivered a strong rookie season, finishing with 62 catches for 885 yards and eight touchdowns.

But the last stretch never quite matched the expectations. Injuries and quarterback instability slowed him down in his first two NFL seasons.

He also had appendix surgery during his 2025 season, and this year has gotten off to a quiet start. Through four games in 2026, Harrison has five catches on 13 targets for 85 yards and a touchdown.

Over 33 career games, he has 108 receptions for 1,578 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Arizona kept him out of Sunday’s game against the Lions while the trade was being completed. With the NFL trade deadline set for Nov. 10, Houston now has time to work Harrison into the offense for the stretch run.

Ohio State Just Got Snubbed Before A Huge Top 10 Road Test

Ohio States trip to Indiana was shaping up as one of the weekends biggest showcases, but College GameDay is heading somewhere else. Instead of Bloomington, the pregame crew will set up for BYU and Notre Dame in Provo, a top-10 matchup that also carries plenty of national appeal and gives the show another marquee stage.

For the Buckeyes, the snub is notable because this was the kind of road test that usually brings extra attention, especially with a top-10 opponent waiting and a chance to make a statement away from home. Ohio State fans may not get another GameDay appearance this season, so this one feels like a missed opportunity even before the Buckeyes take the field. [Read more 🡒]

Julian Sayin's 4 Touchdowns Didn't End Ohio State's Bigger Debate

Ohio State leaned heavily on Jeremiah Smith against Maryland, and the freshman receiver responded with two long touchdown catches that helped drive the Buckeyes offense. Julian Sayin did have a productive day overall, but his performance was more complicated than the box score suggested, with moments of poise mixed in with a fumble and an interception return touchdown tied to a protection breakdown.

Sayin did show some growth by extending plays and keeping drives alive, yet the larger concern for Ohio State remained the same afterward: the quarterback still has not consistently built strong connections with receivers outside of Smith. For a team with bigger goals ahead, that makes the passing game feel a little more settled in production than in identity. [Read more 🡒]

Ohio States Latest Blowout Drew Telling Praise From Marylands Coach

Marylands trip to Ohio Stadium ended in another lopsided loss for Mike Locksleys group, and the box score only underscored how comfortably Ohio State controlled the afternoon. The Buckeyes rolled to a 45-16 victory while the Terrapins managed just 146 total yards, a gap that reflected both the talent difference and how thoroughly Ohio State dictated the game from start to finish.

Locksley came away with little choice but to credit the Buckeyes, who piled up 449 yards and kept Maryland from finding much rhythm at all. He pointed to the Terps inability to make key plays and their problems in man-to-man coverage as part of what made the day so difficult, another reminder of how steep the challenge remains when Maryland lines up against Ohio State.
