Notre Dame Commit Ace Alston Visualizes Big Plays at Junior Day Visit

Rising star Ace Alston solidifies his future with Notre Dame, building key relationships and embracing the team's values during an impactful junior day visit.

Notre Dame's future standout, Ace Alston, is already dreaming big. The Class of 2027 cornerback recently had a moment of realization during a spring practice visit, envisioning himself making plays on the field with his soon-to-be teammates.

Reflecting on the experience, Alston shared, "Seeing the guys fly around and the wide receivers in action, I could picture myself out there next year making those plays. It was a bit of a shock, but it fueled my excitement to compete at that level."

One of the highlights for Alston was catching a glimpse of Notre Dame's new football facility, which is set to open in June. "By the time I visit officially, it’ll be ready. I’m really looking forward to seeing it in person," Alston noted, clearly impressed by the upcoming upgrade.

The visit also allowed Alston to bond with fellow commits like Khalil Terry and Xavier Hasan, as well as connect with Chicago's top prospect, Kameron McGee. "Kameron’s on my 7v7 team, and I know he’s a beast.

I was nudging him to commit because there’s no better place," Alston said, emphasizing the strong relationships forming within their class. "We’ve got a great bond and are aiming to be an elite group."

Alston also praised his interactions with new co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Aaron Henry. "Coach Henry’s intensity and vibes are infectious. He’s knowledgeable, and the players really respond to him," Alston commented, showing confidence in Henry’s ability to elevate his game.

Head coach Marcus Freeman left a lasting impression on Alston as well. Sharing a hometown connection, Freeman’s approach resonated deeply.

"Coach Freeman isn’t just about football; he talks life with us. He’s family-oriented and genuinely cares about his players," Alston explained.

"His leadership and the balance of great education and football at Notre Dame made my decision easy."

Alston, ranked as a Top 100 prospect, is clearly a key piece in Notre Dame's future plans, and his enthusiasm for the program is palpable. With his commitment, the Irish are building a formidable class that promises to make waves in college football.
