The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are making waves again in the recruiting world, and it looks like they might soon secure another promising addition to their backfield. Isaiah Rogers, a 4-star running back from Springfield Central in Massachusetts, is expected to commit to Notre Dame, according to several recruiting insiders.
Rogers recently revisited South Bend for the first time in over a year, aiming to get a more intimate understanding of the program. After his visit, he expressed to Irish Sports Daily that he now has a clearer perspective on his relationship with head coach Marcus Freeman and the coaching staff.
He had high praise for the Notre Dame team, particularly running backs coach Ja'Jaun Seider. "Great coaches, great people," Rogers remarked, highlighting Seider's impressive track record of sending players to the NFL. Rogers emphasized Seider's role not just as a coach but as a mentor who develops players both on and off the field.
Rogers' admiration for Seider seems genuine, and it's no surprise that Rivals' VP of Recruiting, Steve Wiltfong, has predicted Rogers will soon commit to the Fighting Irish.
Ranked as one of the top prospects for the 2027 cycle, Rogers is a standout talent. According to Rivals, he's the No. 10 running back nationally, the second-best player in Massachusetts, and ranks 197th overall in his class. The 247Sports composite lists him as the No. 15 running back, maintaining his position as the second-best in the state, and 237th overall.
Rogers had an impressive junior season, racking up 986 yards on 126 carries, averaging 7.8 yards per carry, and scoring 15 touchdowns. He also showcased his versatility with 37 receptions for 401 yards and three touchdowns.
If Notre Dame secures Rogers' commitment, it would be a significant boost to an already stellar 2027 recruiting class, further solidifying their status as one of the top programs in the nation.
