When Isaiah Rogers committed to Notre Dame, it was a moment that had Irish fans buzzing with excitement. This 4-star running back from Massachusetts is a standout in the 2027 class, showcasing both speed and toughness. Notre Dame had to fend off some of the nation's top programs to secure his commitment, highlighting just how special Rogers is.
Springfield Central High School's head coach, Bill Watson, recently shared insights into Rogers' development, noting that his combination of speed and power was apparent even as a freshman.
"He was physical like that as a freshman," Watson remarked about Notre Dame's newest recruit. "We didn’t really plan on playing him early, but he forced us to."
Rogers' relentless work ethic and effectiveness on the field made it impossible for his coaches to keep him sidelined. "He did it by the way he practiced every day and how effective he was," Watson added. "He forced his way onto the field and never looked back."
Watson also compared Rogers to notable names like Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price, praising his versatility. "He’s a physical kid, explosive.
He can catch the ball out of the backfield, he’s good in protection, and obviously, he can run with the football. He can hurt teams in a lot of different ways.
Sometimes he’s patient through the hole and finds it, and sometimes he’s hitting it full speed and running through defenders. At the next level, it’s about continuing to grow with that and making quicker decisions because everything speeds up."
Notre Dame has landed a gem in Isaiah Rogers. Even with another running back in the class, Rogers has the potential to make an immediate impact at the college level.
