Mylan Graham Reveals Key Difference Between Ohio State and Notre Dame Experience

Mylan Graham sheds light on the contrasting academic environments between Ohio State and Notre Dame, stirring up discussions on the role of education in college athletics.

Wide receiver Mylan Graham is set for an intriguing college journey. Hailing from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Graham initially committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes as a 5-star recruit. After taking a redshirt season in 2024 and seeing limited action in 2025, he made the decision to transfer to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Now in South Bend, Graham has noticed a key difference between his experiences at Ohio State and Notre Dame: the academic environment.

“Not too different, you just have to actually go in person," Graham remarked about his classes with the Fighting Irish. "At Notre Dame, obviously, everybody knows how it is with academics."

While some might interpret his words as a critique of Ohio State, it's more a reflection of the varying academic approaches. Ohio State's use of "distance learning" means athletes often don't need to attend classes in person. This method isn't unique to athletes; many students pursue degrees virtually, reflecting the evolving landscape of higher education.

Graham's comments bring to mind Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones' famous quip from 2012: "we ain't come here to play school." Times have changed, and Jones later retracted that statement as he matured.

In the world of college sports, where players can earn significant sums through endorsements, Graham's observations are a reminder of the balance student-athletes navigate. Any online uproar over his comments seems to be an overreaction, given the realities of modern college life.
